Buying green and organic doesn’t have to be restricted to grocery shopping. If you’re an eco-conscious shopper who wants to bring more earth-friendly products into your home, your bedding is a great place to start.
However, with so many misleading ads promising you premium, eco-friendly materials, figuring out which ones are the real deal can get tricky.
The good news is our team tested a variety of organic sheets, assessing durability, temperature regulation, fit, and beyond to bring you our picks for the best organic sheets, plus tips on what to look for while you shop.
Read on to see what made our list.
Clarity’s Clear Winner
The Silk & Snow Percale Sheet Set is our top pick for the best organic mattress because it delivered across all testing categories. This sheet set combines cooling comfort, a secure fit, and strong overall value. With these sheets, our product tester stayed cool and comfortable, even in a warm climate. The deep, stretchy pockets also fit mattresses up to 15 inches tall. The best part? The sale price often dips below $110, delivering impressive performance at a relatively affordable price.
Materials significantly impact the feel and durability of your bed sheets. We noted how each set looked out of the packaging, noting any frays, tears, and potential flaws. We also washed each sheet set multiple times to see how they would hold up after long-term use. Generally, organic materials are higher quality, so we prioritized sheets that earned a 4/5 or higher in this category.
Temperature regulation is another category we look at closely when reviewing sheets. Your sheets should keep you warm without overheating, regardless of the climate you live in. We took each sheet set home and tested them over several months to see how they performed in different temperatures. We’re confident the picks on our list will keep you cool and comfortable through the night, as most options here scored a 4/5 or higher in this category.
While durability and cooling are arguably the most important factors when shopping for sheets, fit is equally important. Ideally, you want a sheet set that is deep enough to wrap around your mattress without falling off at night. However, just because a sheet set has deep pockets doesn’t mean it’s one-size-fits-all. If a sheet set is too big for your bed (or has too much loose fabric), that excess material can bunch up beneath you and cause discomfort. For this list, we looked for sheets that could tightly wrap around taller mattresses. Many of the options here scored at least a 4/5 in this category.
Our team of Certified Sleep Science Coaches selected the best organic sheets by looking for top performers in the categories above: durability, cooling, and fit.
But our full process involves testing several aspects of a sheet’s performance, including price, customer experience, and more. We evaluate and score these factors using specialized technology and firsthand accounts from testers with different body types about how a sheet set feels.
Once we have all those scores, we calculate the overall score using a weighted formula. This overall score is a good indicator of a sheet’s general quality and is always a number out of 5.
As we decide which sheets to feature in any roundup, we include only those with an overall score of 3.5 or higher. Even if a set of sheets does certain things well, we won’t point you towards it if it falls below this baseline.
We rate each mattress on a scale from 1 to 5 to reflect its overall quality. This number is comprised of individual scores from hands-on testing of materials, firmness, pressure relief, motion transfer, cooling, responsiveness, and more.

Fit. These sheets are deep and stretchy enough to fit around tall mattresses (up to 15 inches tall).
Cooling. Our tester found that these sheets keep things cool, even with the heat on in the surrounding room.
Price. These sheets often go on sale for under $110, which is a steal for organic bedding of this quality.
Why the Silk & Snow Percale Sheets are the Best Organic Sheets Overall
The Silk & Snow Percale Bed Sheets are our top pick for organic sheets thanks to their high-quality construction and impressive performance, earning a score of 4/5 or higher in every testing category.
Product tester Melanie Kassel credited these sheets with actively improving her sleep quality. Thanks to their temperature-regulating materials, the Silk & Snow Percale Bed Sheets kept her from overheating in a particularly warm setting. She was also impressed by how well they fit on her bed, completely enveloping her tall mattress.
The only drawback is that this sheet set might not be for everyone because percale isn’t for everyone. Percale has a lightweight, cool, and crisp feel that might not appeal to fans of something thick and cozy, like flannel.
What Our Tester Says
“We just turned the heat on for the winter here, and I’ve been sleeping a bit too hot. These sheets brought a welcome change to my sleep quality. The cotton is quite breathable, and it never felt like it was sticking to my skin. I don’t usually use a top sheet (I’m a comforter-only type of girl), but I liked using the top sheet in this set because it didn’t warm me up too much.”
– Melanie Kassel, certified sleep science coach

People with tall mattresses can rest easy knowing these sheets accommodate mattresses up to 15 inches tall.
Budget-conscious organic shoppers will love that they can typically get these sheets for under $110.

Materials. Product tester Sosha Lewis found that the Saatva sheets had strong materials and durable elastic.
Fit. The deep-pocket construction ensures the Saatva Organic Sateen Sheets fit most mattresses.
Trial. Like its mattresses, Saatva’s sheets come with a generous trial period (45 days) to let customers get acquainted with their new purchase.
Why the Saatva Organic Sateen Sheets are the Best Organic Sateen Sheets
If you’re looking for a certified organic, hotel-quality sheet set, the Saatva Organic Sateen sheets are hard to beat. Saatva uses high-quality, GOTS-certified (Global Organic Textile Standard) organic cotton in these sheets. This certification ensures the cotton is produced sustainably and responsibly, with as few harsh chemicals as possible.
However, they have a lower 300-thread count, which makes them breathable but may be a deal-breaker for those seeking a thicker set with a higher thread count. According to product tester Sosha Lewis, these sheets also took a few washes to feel “just right,” but after those washes, she “fell in love” with them.
What Our Tester Says
“The material seems very durable. The elastic is strong, and there is no pilling. The thickness of these sheets leads me to think that they will be around for the long haul.”

Who Might Not Like the Saatva Organic Sateen Sheets
Hot sleepers may need a fabric with more temperature-regulating properties, such as Tencel, if they get extremely hot at night.
Sleepers who don’t want to spend time “breaking in” their new sheets might want to find something more ready out of the box. While our tester loved her Saatva Organic Sateen Sheets, she noted that it took a few washes for them to reach their comfiest state.
We rate each mattress on a scale from 1 to 5 to reflect its overall quality. This number is comprised of individual scores from hands-on testing of materials, firmness, pressure relief, motion transfer, cooling, responsiveness, and more.

Fit. The elastic stretches easily and seems extremely durable. Sosha had no issues encasing her 14-inch mattress in these sheets.
Cooling. Sosha and her husband found that these sheets felt crisp and breathable through the night.
Why the Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets are the Best Organic Bamboo Sheets
The Cozy Earth Bamboo sheets are a great option for shoppers looking for an organic, eco-friendly set. Hot sleepers should love these because bamboo is a great material for keeping cool. Sosha Lewis, one of our testers, found that these sheets were moisture-wicking and very breathable.
Her only complaints about the Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets were the price and the tendency to wrinkle easily. Aside from that, she dubbed them the “best sheets of all time.”
What Our Tester Says
“These are my favorite sheets of all time. They are definitely pricey, but after using them for a couple of months, I think they are worth every penny.”

At over $300 for a queen-size set, budget shoppers looking for an affordable option may want to steer clear of these sheets.
These sheets easily wrinkle, so if you are particular about presentation, you might want to look elsewhere.

Durability. The Avocado Natural Linen Sheet Set is lightweight but sturdy-feeling.
Cooling. Like most linen sheets, our tester found that the Avocado sheets stayed light, dry, and comfortable through the night.
Feel. These sheets are a soft, luxurious option perfect for hot climates.
Why the Avocado Natural Linen Sheets are the Best Organic Linen Sheets
The Avocado Organic Linen sheets are some of the best organic linen sheets we’ve gotten our hands on. Avocado sheets are MADE SAFE Certified, meaning they undergo a rigorous screening process that only passes materials not known or suspected to harm human health.
Our product expert rigorously tested these sheets during a particularly hot summer in Texas and found that they stayed soft, luxurious, and breathable – even after multiple washes.
According to her, the only drawback was price. At $499 for a queen-sized set before discounts, the Avocado sheet set is not the most budget-friendly option on the market.
What Our Tester Says
“I live in Texas, so cool sheets are a must, and I cast a deep sigh when asked to test anything flannel,” said our in-house tester. “I was excited to test these linen sheets because linen tends to be light, dry, and cooling—and these sheets definitely met my expectations there. They were also super soft, which was a nice bonus!”

Who Might Like the Avocado Natural Linen Sheets
Sleepers in hot climates will appreciate how breathable these linen sheets are.
Those looking for a luxurious set should put these ultra-soft linens near the top of their list.
Eco-conscious shoppers don’t have to look far to see the numerous third-party certifications Avocado holds.
Who Might Not Like the Avocado Natural Linen Sheets
The steep price tag of the Avocado Natural Linen Sheets makes it difficult to recommend to budget shoppers.
While these sheets are breathable, they also feel soft and cozy. If you prefer a crisp, moisture-wicking experience, then crinkled percale sheets might be a better choice for you.

Price. At only $100 for a queen-sized set, the Quince sheet set is one of the cheapest options on our list.
Durability. Even after multiple washes, our product tester found no pilling, loose threads, or any evidence of excessive wear.
Warranty. Quince provides a generous one-year warranty with all of their sheets.
Why the Organic Crisp Percale Sheets are the Best Budget Organic Sheets
Before any discounts, the queen-sized Quince Organic Crisp Percale Sheet Set is only $99. Compared to many other brands that charge between $200 and $300 (or more) for percale sheets of the same quality, this is a steal and a budget shopper’s dream come true.
The best part? These affordable percale sheets punch well above their weight. While testing these at home, I found that they felt crisp, cool, and comfortable night after night, which I appreciated as a hot sleeper. They also hold up well after multiple washes. I still use them, and I have no significant wear and tear to report!
The only thing to note is that these percale sheets feel rather thin, so if you prefer a dense, cozy texture, you may fare better with a flannel sheet set instead.
What Our Tester Says
“I like these a lot. They exceeded my expectations for sure. They looked a little thin and felt stiff when they came out of the packaging, but they softened up after a couple of nights of sleeping on them. The fit alone around my tall mattress is a real game-changer for me; I’m probably going to use them for a while just because of that.”

Who Might Like the Quince Organic Crisp Percale Sheet Set
At around $100 for a queen set, these sheets are a great choice for budget shoppers who want 100% organic cotton without the premium price tag.
The crisp, lightweight percale weave feels cool and breathable, making these sheets well suited to hot sleepers who tend to sweat through their sheets at night.
People with tall mattresses will be impressed by how securely the fitted sheets wrap around their beds.
Who Might Not Like the Quince Organic Crisp Percale Sheet Set
Fans of cozy sheets. These sheets have a thin, crisp feel, so sleepers who prefer something thicker and cozier may be happier with flannel or another heavier weave.
People who want silky-soft sheets might find that the sheets feel somewhat stiff at first and need a little time to soften up.
We rate each mattress on a scale from 1 to 5 to reflect its overall quality. This number is comprised of individual scores from hands-on testing of materials, firmness, pressure relief, motion transfer, cooling, responsiveness, and more.
Fit. These sheets fit beds up to 16 inches tall without falling off.
Cooling. Like other percale options, the Verlee sheets are cool to the touch.
Price. At $125 for a queen-sized set, these sheets are reasonably priced.
Why the Verlee Organic Percale Sheet Set is the Best Organic Percale Sheet Set
The Verlee Organic Percale Sheet Set is our pick for the best organic percale sheets because they have every trait that makes this weave great. Product tester Riley Otis gave this Verlee sheet set a 4/5 or higher in every testing category.
Hot sleepers and those with tall mattresses should love these sheets, thanks to their cool-to-the-touch feel and deep-pocket fit. That said, Riley noted that those with shorter mattresses may notice some excess material and bunching.
What Our Tester Says
“The sheets didn’t rip when I tugged on the fabric, and I don’t see any loose threads or fraying. They seem durable. I don’t think they will tear on their own without you trying to rip them.”

Who Might Like the Verlee Organic Percale Sheet Set
These percale sheets feel cool to the touch, making them a good option for sleepers who tend to run warm at night.
People with tall mattresses will love that the Verlee’s deep pockets can accommodate mattresses up to 16 inches tall.
Shoppers who prioritize durability will not have to worry about loose threads, stretching, or fraying here.
Who Might Not Like the Verlee Organic Percale Sheet Set
People with shorter mattresses may notice excess material, so these sheets may bunch up in mattresses that don’t fill the deep pockets.
Sleepers who prefer something plush or silky may want to consider a different weave, as percale tends to feel lightweight and crinkly.
The crisp percale construction may not provide the warmth colder sleepers prefer.
We rate each mattress on a scale from 1 to 5 to reflect its overall quality. This number is comprised of individual scores from hands-on testing of materials, firmness, pressure relief, motion transfer, cooling, responsiveness, and more.
Materials. Our product tester found that the Eucalypso sheets were thick and durable.
Temperature Regulation. The Tencel material in these sheets gives them a cooling effect.
Feel. During testing, our product expert described these sheets as soft, silky, and luxurious.
Why the Eucalypso Classic Sheet Set is the Best Organic Tencel Sheets
Eucalypso sheets are great for people who want to curl up in cool-yet-luxurious comfort. These cooling Tencel sheets feel a lot like silk, but you can machine-wash them. Best of all, Eucalypso sheets are made from sustainably sourced material.
During testing, our product expert praised the Eucalypso set for feeling soft, slick, and cooling. Hot sleepers shouldn’t have to worry about night sweats under these sheets.
That said, our tester said that these sheets were a little too big for her bed. If you have a shorter mattress, the sheets might not wrap snugly around it, which could cause them to bunch up beneath you.
What Our Tester Says
“These sheets are amazing for cooling,” our in-house tester said. “They have a cool-to-the-touch feel, and they didn’t warm up as I slept on them. Every time I moved to a new spot on my bed, I found an area that felt nice and cool, so they seemed to cool down very quickly as well.”

Latest Updates: In September 2026, we updated our roundup of the best organic sheets to reflect our latest testing data. We removed a handful of discontinued sheet sets and replaced them with products from Silk & Snow, Verlee, and Quince. We also updated pricing and scores where necessary.
Other Organic Sheets We Researched
Not every set we tested made our final list, but that doesn’t mean you should count them out. A handful of other sheet sets performed well in testing but were edged out by another option that we felt would appeal to more sleepers. Here’s one additional organic sheet set worth considering.
Mattress Clarity Score
We rate each mattress on a scale from 1 to 5 to reflect its overall quality. This number is comprised of individual scores from hands-on testing of materials, firmness, pressure relief, motion transfer, cooling, responsiveness, and more.

Birch Organic Sateen Sheets–The Birch Organic Sateen Sheets are a strong runner-up thanks to their buttery-soft sateen feel, breathable 320-thread-count construction, and GOTS and Fair Trade certifications. We ultimately left the Birch off our main list because other brands had a more generous sleep trial.
Boll & Branch Hemmed Percale Sheets–The Boll & Branch Hemmed Percale Sheets impressed us with durable long-staple organic cotton, a crisp, breathable percale weave, and deep pockets that accommodate mattresses up to 17 inches tall. However, our final picks edged them out based on their overall bang for the buck.
How We Tested the Best Organic Sheets
To find the best organic sheets, we testers slept on these sheets night after night and evaluated how they performed in real-life bedrooms. Our team paid particularly close attention to durability, cooling and temperature regulation, and fit, since these factors can make the difference between a sheet set you love and one that stays buried in your closet. Learn more about each test below.
Durability
Getting a bargain on a “premium” sheet set doesn’t count for much if they start pilling, fraying, or tearing after a few trips through the washing machine. To measure durability, our testers first inspect each sheet set straight out of the packaging, looking closely for loose threads, fraying, tears, or other potential defects. We also handle and stretch the fabric to get a better idea of how substantial and well-constructed it feels.
We then put the sheets through real-world use. Our testers sleep on them night after night and wash them multiple times, following the manufacturer’s care instructions. After each wash, we check for signs of wear, such as pilling, shrinking, loose stitching, or changes to the fabric’s feel.
Cooling and Temperature Regulation
Studies have found that the material of your sheets can impact how warm or cool you feel in bed, so cooling is one of the most important factors we consider during testing. We look for breathable materials that allow heat to escape rather than trapping it against the body.
Rather than judging cooling performance after a single night, our product testers use these sheets at home over several weeks or months.
Since our testers live in different climates, we can get a better sense of how each set performs through changing temperatures.
Fit
A fitted sheet should stay securely wrapped around your mattress throughout the night. During testing, we examine pocket depth and stretch to see if each fitted sheet can accommodate thicker mattresses. Deep-pocket sheets can be especially useful if you have a tall mattress or use a mattress topper or mattress pad.
However, more isn’t always better when it comes to bedding. A fitted sheet that’s too large can leave excess material on the sleeping surface, which may bunch or wrinkle underneath you as you move around. That’s why our team also prioritized sheet sets that fit snugly and securely when choosing products for this list.
What Else Is Important When Buying an Organic Sheet Set?
Our hands-on tests and scores can tell you a lot about how a set of sheets performs, but they aren’t the only things worth considering before you buy. Price, company policies, and materials can all affect whether a particular set is right for your bed and budget. Learn more below.
Price
Organic sheets are generally more expensive than non-organic sheets because of the materials, sourcing, and manufacturing processes involved.
That said, a quality set shouldn’t set you back hundreds of dollars. In fact, some of our testers’ favorite organic sheets cost around $100 (or even less) for a queen size.
We recommend reading customer reviews and considering price alongside the materials used in each sheet set. If, after reading reviews, you find that a slightly more expensive sheet set holds up well after repeated use and washing, it may offer better long-term value.
Sleep Trial and Warranty
A sleep trial or generous return policy gives you time to decide whether your new sheets actually work for you. This is especially helpful when shopping online, since you can’t feel the fabric or see how the fitted sheet fits your mattress beforehand.
Always check the return window, whether used or washed sheets are eligible, and whether you’ll have to pay return shipping.
If it comes with one, a warranty can provide security against manufacturing defects. When looking over warranty details, carefully review what is covered and for how long.
Weave and Materials
The word “organic” can describe numerous sheet materials, so don’t assume every organic sheet set will feel the same. Organic cotton sheets are one of the most common options, but you may also find Tencel or linen.
The weave can make just as much of a difference. Percale typically feels crisp, crinkly, and lightweight, while sateen sheet sets tend to feel smoother, silkier, and somewhat warmer.
How you want the sheets to feel against your skin and your sleeping temperature should be top considerations when choosing between materials and weaves.
Best Organic Sheets FAQs
What is included in an organic sheet set?
Sheet sets typically come with pillowcases, a flat sheet, and a fitted sheet. However, some sets come with a duvet cover, especially more premium options.
Are organic bed sheets safer than non-organic?
Organic sheets that are grown and made with fewer chemicals can in fact be safer for you. Be sure to look out for the OEKO-Tex certified emblem. This guarantees that your bedding set is made without harmful toxins or chemicals.
Are organic sheets hypoallergenic?
Being an organic product really means the materials were grown without harsh chemicals or pesticides. They aren’t exactly guaranteed hypoallergenic. For that, I’d look at the materials used. Bamboo and Tencel lyocell (or eucalyptus) are naturally hypoallergenic materials. If you have sensitive skin or allergies, bamboo and Tencel are better options.
Can you use fabric softener on organic sheets?
I wouldn’t recommend adding in a fabric softener to your sheets if they are certified organic. In essence you’re adding in a chemical to the washing process, and it could cause the fibers of your sheets to break down a bit easier. And some sheets are designed to naturally get softer the more you use and wash them, like the Avocado Organic Linens and the American Blossom sheets.
Additionally, the manufacturer will provide you with the best washing and care instructions for your sheets. Be sure to follow those instructions as best you can. And if you can’t find them in your product, the company will almost always have instructions on how to wash your sheets on its website.
