Quility Weighted Blanket Overview

Quility sells just one product: weighted blankets. The brand sells most of their blankets through Amazon, so they’re relatively affordable and they’ll show up on your doorstep lightning fast. The brand makes blankets for adults, but it does offer a light 5 lb option for children, too.

30-60 Min Nap With the Quility Weighted Blanket

At the time of testing the Quility weighted blanket, the temperatures in Texas were beginning to drop and it finally began to feel like fall. So, when I pulled the blanket out of its packaging and pulled it over me, I was immediately met with a warm, cozy feeling.

Before curling underneath it for a nap, I took advantage of the cozy feeling and just lounged and decompressed. One thing about weighted blankets is that the heavier they are, the bigger the blanket tends to be. Some 25 lb weighted blankets I’ve tested tend to be oversized. But the queen-size 25 lb blanket from Quility just barely made it to the edges of the bed I was on.

A man sleeps on his side using the Quility weighted blanket.

Because of this, I was able to feel the weight all around me more than some of those oversized blankets. As I settled in for a nap, I didn’t feel hot and stuffy, either. This is really because of how it was feeling outside, so if you live somewhere fairly warm, it might cause some overheating.

One thing I also appreciate about weighted blankets is that they keep me from changing positions too much. This is mostly because I don’t want to move such a heavy blanket to switch sleeping positions. But if you’re someone who wants to reduce how much you toss and turn, weighted blankets are a great option.

How Much Does the Quility Weighted Blanket Weigh?

Quility offers its weighted blanket in a variety of weight options for both children and adults. I reviewed a queen-size, 25 lb option. For me, this weight option was an ideal choice because I was able to feel a good amount of the weight all around me.

If you’re not sure which weight option is for you, consider the “10% rule.” All you have to do is take 10% of your body weight (or divide your weight by 10) and that’ll give you a starting point, give or take a pound.

So, for example, I said 25 lb was a good choice for me. I weigh 280 lb, so 10% of that is 28. From there, I rounded down to 25 and that usually works for me. As I said, this is a good starting point, but the ideal weight can vary from person to person. Some may want something lighter than 10% of their body weight, while others may want something heavier.

How Does the Quility Weighted Blanket Feel?

If you’ve done any research into weighted blankets, then you’ve likely heard that many of them feel “like a hug.” This is what weighted blankets are known for, and there’s evidence that suggests the weight and this “hugging” feeling is what helps people feel calmer when they use them.

A hand brushes over the cover for the Quility weighted blanket.

With the Quility weighted blanket, I definitely felt that hugging feeling. I think it was because, as mentioned above, the blanket I was using wasn’t oversized. It just barely covered my  queen-size mattress, so the weight felt more concentrated.

The outer duvet cover has a soft, minky feeling, so, if that’s what you want in your blankets, this is a winner.

Quility Weighted Blanket Performance

Let’s cover some more considerations about the Quility weighted blanket before you click “checkout.”

Sleeping Hot or Cold

While there are some weighted blankets out there that have cooling features and cooling fabrics, that’s not the case with Quility. If you get cold quickly or want a thick, heavy blanket for the wintertime, the Quility blanket is worth checking out.

It was about 40-50 degrees outside when I tested the Quility blanket and I felt really comfortable. Because it was the perfect temperature outside for blankets, I didn’t feel hot.. However, if I were to use this blanket in the middle of a Texas summer (when temperatures reach over 100 degrees) I know I’d overheat.

Care Instructions

The Quility weighted blanket comes with a removable duvet cover that is machine-washable. Quility recommends washing the cover in cold water on a gentle cycle, if possible. Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach.

From there, Quility recommends that you hang dry the cover. The weighted insert is not machine-washable and is recommended to hand wash or spot clean only.

Allergies/Allergens?

The Quility weighted blanket is not listed as a hypoallergenic product. The outer polyester cover is removable and machine-washable, though. So if you’re sensitive to allergens in your sleep environment, washing the cover should help eliminate dirt and dust that may collect on the blanket.

Quility Weighted Blanket Construction

There are three main materials that make up a Quility weighted blanket: polyester, cotton, and glass beads.

The outer, removable duvet cover is made from a soft, minky polyester material. This cover comes in a few different colors, but one thing to point out is that it has raised areas on one side. They look like little dots studded across the cover, and they give the blanket an added texture.

The inner blanket is made with a thick cotton fabric. It is sewn through with a square grid pattern to keep the inner fill evenly distributed. Speaking of, the blanket gets its weight from glass microbeads found in each of these squares.

Company Policies

Let’s cover some company policies for the Quility weighted blanket.

Return Policy

Quility mostly runs out of an Amazon shop. If you purchase from Amazon, the standard return process will apply. Amazon offers free shipping and free returns on all orders.

I looked through the listing thoroughly and didn’t see a return window. But in most cases, you have about 30 days to issue a return and receive a full refund.

How Does the Quility Weighted Blanket Compare To Other Blankets

Weighted blankets have different styles these days, so if you’re not sure if the Quility blanket is for you, it’s good to keep your options open. Let’s see how this stands up against a chunky-knit weighted blanket and a 100% cotton blanket..

Quility vs Brooklyn Bedding

Chunky-knit weighted blankets are a popular design choice these days. This design allows for people to get that weighted feeling all around them, but the knit structure still allows for airflow. So when looking at the Quility weighted blanket versus the Brooklyn Bedding weighted blanket, hot sleepers may be more inclined to get the Brooklyn Bedding blanket. But if you want a traditional, minky blanket, go for Quility.

Brooklyn Bedding only offers its weighted blanket in 10 and 15 lb options. This makes it a good choice for older children or teens and some light-to-average-weight adults, but it doesn’t offer heavier weights to those that need or want them. That’s where Quility really shines. The company offers its weighted blanket in a variety of weight ranges, going as heavy as 30 lb.

Quility vs Baloo

Just like Quility, Baloo only sells weighted blankets. But the blankets offered do vary from one another. Quility’s weighted blankets come with a weighted insert and a removable duvet cover. Baloo’s weighted blankets can act as duvet inserts, but they aren’t offered with the purchase of the blanket. Both inserts are fairly similar, using cotton covers. But, Quility’s duvet cover offers the blanket a fuzzy, mink feel.

baloo back

The Baloo weighted blanket might appeal more to those who prefer a smooth cotton blanket. And it’s worth noting that Baloo ensures its cotton is 100% organic and chemical free, and doesn’t contain synthetic materials. The duvet cover for Quility is made out of polyester, so it’s not a fully organic weighted blanket.

Quility Weighted Blanket FAQs

Can I wash a Quility weighted blanket?

You can wash the outer, removable cover. Quility recommends washing it in cold water and letting it hang dry. The weighted insert of the blanket is not machine-washable, and must be spot cleaned or hand washed if it gets dirty.

What if I don’t like my Quility weighted blanket?

Quility runs its shop mostly out of Amazon, so all returns will have to be made through Amazon. But as per most Amazon orders, you’ll get a full refund and have free return shipping. It’s best to make these returns within 30 days of delivery.

How long should the Quility weighted blanket last?

With good care, the Quility weighted blanket should last several years. If the outer duvet cover gets damaged in any way, this blanket will work with any duvet cover that can fit it.
