Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Video Review
Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Overview
Saatva is known for creating luxury mattresses that work for a variety of people. Couples love the customizable Saatva Solaire, and stomach sleepers enjoy the Saatva Latex mattress. The company also sells the Zenhaven, Loom & Leaf and Saatva HD mattresses.
The newest offering is the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid, and although it has many positive elements, it may not meet every person’s needs. Here’s a quick rundown of who may want to get this mattress.
Pros of the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid
- It’s a great mattress for people with back pain, because the mattress is zoned. This means it feels firmer in some areas and softer in others, which helps people maintain a neutral spinal alignment throughout the night.
- Combination sleepers, or those who switch sleeping positions during the night, should feel a good balance of comfort and support.
- It’s a cooling mattress. The coils promote airflow, and the gel-infused foam helps dissipate body heat.
Cons of the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid
- Even though it has coils, it lacks a bouncy and responsive feel. If this is what you’re looking for, you may want to consider the Saatva Classic mattress instead.
- It has a high price point, because it’s made with high-quality materials. A queen size mattress costs $1795.00 before discounts.
- Heavyweight stomach sleepers won’t get the support they need on the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid. They run the risk of developing lower back pain on this bed.
Overall Rating
We ranked the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid based on its cooling features, durability and more. Check out the results below:
Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Firmness and Feel
Before we explain what this mattress is made out of, let’s examine its firmness and feel. That way, you can easily figure out whether it will meet all of your sleep needs.
How Firm is the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid?
The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid mattress feels like a 6.5/10 on our firmness scale, which also happens to be the industry standard for medium-firm mattresses.
This Saatva mattress has a zoned construction, so it feels slightly firmer in the center third of the bed. This helps sleepers maintain the proper spinal alignment in many sleeping positions.
Sleeping on the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid
Thanks to its zoned construction, the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid mattress works well for back and side sleepers. Stomach sleepers who weigh more than 200 lb may need a more supportive mattress, but overall, the bed’s quilted comfort layer helps people maintain the correct sleep posture throughout the night.
What Does the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Feel Like?
The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid mattress has a balanced foam feel. The top layers offer a bit of body contouring and pressure relief, while the pocketed coils offer lumbar support. Sleepers will gently sink into the top layers, but they shouldn’t have difficulty moving around on top of the bed.
Sleeper Weight | Back Sleepers | Side Sleepers | Stomach Sleepers |
Lightweight (Under 130 lb) | Excellent | Excellent | Excellent |
Average (130 – 230 lb) | Excellent | Excellent | Fair |
Heavyweight (Over 230 lb) | Good | Fair | Bad |
Is the Saatva Memory Foam Mattress Good For Lightweight People (Under 130 lb)?
- The Saatva Memory Foam mattress is a great match for lightweight back sleepers, because the zoned support helps keep the spine in the proper alignment.
- Lightweight side sleepers should also feel comfortable and supported on the Saatva Memory Foam mattress. This bed feels softer near the top, which helps cushion shoulders and hips.
- Because lightweight people won’t compress the mattress too much, they should feel supported and comfortable while stomach sleeping.
Is the Saatva Memory Foam Mattress Good For Average Weight People (130 – 230 lb)?
- It’s a great mattress for average weight back sleepers, thanks to its zoned support layer.
- The zoned support layer is also great for average weight side sleepers; it cushions joints and helps support the spine.
- Stomach sleepers who weigh more than 150 lb may not get enough support on the Saatva Memory Foam mattress. People in this category could feel their hips sinking out of alignment, which can lead to back pain. If you fall in this category, you may want to get one of the best firm mattresses.
Is the Saatva Memory Foam Mattress Good For Heavyweight People (Over 230 lb)?
- Back sleepers who weigh less than 300 lb should feel comfortable and supported on the Saatva Memory Foam mattress. Heavier people may “bottom out” on the bed, which can lead to joint pain.
- Most heavyweight side sleepers won’t get the pressure relief they need on this mattress. People who weigh more than 250 lb will likely sink through the top layer and feel some tension along their shoulders and hips.
- Heavyweight stomach sleepers won’t get enough hip support on this mattress and should consider getting one of the best mattresses for heavy people instead.
Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Construction
Like all of Saatva’s mattresses, the Memory Foam Hybrid has some luxurious features. Let’s examine its construction and learn more about it.
Cover
Made out of organic cotton, the cover is both breathable and antimicrobial.
Comfort Layers
The first comfort layer contains Saatva’s patented Lumbar Zone Quilting. The middle third of this layer feels firmer than the rest, which helps sleepers maintain the ideal spinal alignment throughout the night.
The second layer contains .5” of gel-infused memory foam. This material feels slow-moving and plush, and the gel infusion helps dissipate body heat. Finally, there’s a 1.5” layer of AirCradle Memory Foam. This material is aerated for extra breathability, and it gently contours the body.
Support Layers
The first support layer consists of an 8” layer of pocketed comfort coils made out of recycled steel. High-density support rails line the outside of the mattress and give the bed extra edge support. At the bottom sits a 1” layer of premium support foam, which makes the mattress particularly durable.
Mattress Height
The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid mattress is 11.5” tall.

Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Performance
I put the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid mattress through a number of tests to assess its cooling features, edge support, motion transfer and more. Keep reading to learn more:
Sleeping Hot or Cold
Sleeping hot shouldn’t be a problem on the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid. This mattress has a breathable cotton cover, heat-dissipating gel foam and pocketed coils that promote airflow. It’s one of the best cooling mattresses on the market.
Motion Transfer
Even though it contains coils, the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid isolates motion well, which is great for couples. You shouldn’t feel your partner’s movements travel to your side of the bed.
Edge Support
The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid mattress has some of the best edge support I’ve ever tested. The reinforced foam rails prevent people from sinking through the mattress. Couples—take note. This means each person has even more room to relax and spread out on the mattress.
Durability
Most beds last 7-10 years, but thanks to the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid’s high-density foam and strong coil system, it should last at least a decade.
Off-Gassing
Off-gassing, or the emission of a chemical smell, is a common occurrence when people open bed-in-a-box mattresses. Fortunately, the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid is never compressed into a box, so this isn’t an issue at all. You can sleep on your new mattress right away–no need to wait for it to air out and expand.
Noise
When I tested the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid mattress, I didn’t hear any noise. It’s possible the bed could start to squeak as the years go on, but because the coils are pocketed, I don’t expect noise to become a major issue.
Sex
If you’re looking for one of the best mattresses for sex, the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid may fit the bill. This mattress has a responsive feel that’s easy to move around on, so you and your partner shouldn’t feel “stuck” inside the layers.
Company Policies
When shopping for a new mattress, it’s super important to understand the company policies. Keep reading to learn more about Saatva’s warranty information, sleep trial period, return policy and more.
Warranty Info
The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid is backed by a lifetime warranty.
Sleep Trial
Saatva gives customers a 365-night sleep trial period, so you have plenty of time to determine whether it’s the bed for you.
Return Policy
Not a fan of the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid? Not to worry. You can easily return the mattress as long as it’s during the initial sleep trial period. Please note—Saatva does charge a $99 fee to pick up the mattress.
Common Saatva Mattress Complaints
Most people love the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid mattress, but occasionally, customers don’t thoroughly read the fine print. Some folks felt disappointed to learn that Saatva charges a $99 return fee, even during the sleep trial period. To avoid potential frustration, make sure to read all of the small details before buying.
How Does the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Compare to Other Mattresses?
There are tons of memory foam mattresses out there. So how do you know which one to pick? Luckily, I’ve tested hundreds of them and can help clear up any confusion.
I’ll compare the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid to two other popular beds, Nectar and WinkBed. And remember, if you need even more information, you can find in-depth reviews on our Saatva Mattress comparisons page.

Even though both mattresses contain layers of high-density foam, the Nectar original mattress has more of a slow-moving feel. Like the Saatva, the Nectar mattress has many cooling features. However, the Nectar mattress won’t sleep as cool as the Saatva because it doesn’t contain breathable support coils.
The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid mattress has some impressive features and materials, like the Lumbar Zone Quilting and AirCradle Memory Foam. For that reason, it comes at a higher price point.

Both mattresses contain coils and foam, but they have many differences. The WinkBed mattress is available in four firmness levels: Softer, Luxury Firm, Firmer and Plus. The Luxury Firm model feels more supportive than the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid, though both beds have a zoned construction.
The WinkBed mattress is 2.5” taller than the Saatva, so it may be a bit more durable. After coupons, both beds have a similar price point, so the decision ultimately boils down to what you need from a mattress.
