- Set a bedtime – This may sound silly, but it’s an important step to achieving regular, high-quality sleep. When the time rolls around, stop what you’re doing and go to bed.
- Set rules around screentime – No one likes to hear this one, but once you get to bed—or inside your bedroom—try to minimize your screen use. Consider keeping your phone or laptop in another room entirely!
- Invest in darkness – We highly encourage you to spread joy and light during the day, but you’ve got to embrace the darkness at night. Try a sleep mask or blackout curtains if too much light gets into your room.
- Chill out – Keep your sleeping space a bit cooler than the rest of your house.
- Moderate your caffeine consumption – Although it may help you finish your work day strong, caffeine can wreak havoc on your sleep schedule. Try to limit your coffee breaks to the morning, then switch to decaf after a cutoff time.
