Firmness and Feel Differences
Now, I’ll go into more detail about the firmness and feel of these two mattresses. How Firm Are The DreamCloud Premier and DreamCloud Premier Rest
On a firmness scale of 1-10, the DreamCloud Premier scores a 6.5/10. This is the standard score for a medium-firm mattress, and the DreamCloud Premier is indeed right in that sweet spot between medium and firm. Its plush pillow top provides a good deal of comfort, while the coils provide firmness. The DreamCloud Premier Rest is even plusher and came in at a 6/10, softer than average. It features more comfort layers and provides more cushioning than the Premier.Sleeping On The DreamCloud Premier and DreamCloud Premier Rest
I started off my tests on the DreamCloud Premier mattress. While back sleeping, I found it to be a great match for me. My hips sank in the perfect amount, and I could feel the support of the lower foam layers as well as the coils. Side sleeping, the DreamCloud Premier was a bit too firm for me. I could feel some pressure building up around my shoulders and hips, and it wasn’t very comfortable. However, I will note that I weigh 270 lb, and lighter people might have a different experience. Stomach sleeping, the DreamCloud Premier was not quite supportive enough for someone of my weight. As I’ll discuss below, those who weigh less than me should feel much better support on the DreamCloud Premier. When I tried out the DreamCloud Premier Rest, it was not so supportive for me when I was back sleeping. I felt like I was sinking too far into the mattress, and I did not enjoy the solid lumbar support I experienced on the DreamCloud Premier. Being a softer mattress, the DreamCloud Premier Rest was a much better match for side sleeping. I felt less pressure on my shoulders and hips compared to when I was lying on the DreamCloud Premier. However, stomach sleeping, I felt even less supported than I did on the Premier. I could feel my hips sinking down into the mattress, causing me some lower back pain. Most stomach sleepers will want something firmer than the Premier Rest. What Do The DreamCloud Premier and DreamCloud Premier Rest Feel Like?
The DreamCloud Premier and Premier Rest both have a bouncy feel. The coils and top layers of foam are responsive and make it very easy to reposition on these mattresses. Right on top, both mattresses have a plush Euro top feel, but the Premier Rest is a bit plusher.Average Weight Sleepers – 130 lb – 230 lb
Average weight back sleepers should prefer the Premier mattress as it is just a tad firmer than the Premier Rest. Some back sleepers in this weight range could enjoy back sleeping on the Premier Rest, but they should get better comfort and support on the Premier. Side sleepers who weigh closer to 130 lb should get an equal amount of pressure relief from both mattresses. They won’t press in as far, and might not be able to tell a difference in the firmness. However, those closer to 230 lb should prefer side sleeping on the DreamCloud Premier Rest. Stomach sleeping, average weight people should prefer the DreamCloud Premier. It is the firmer mattress and offers better lumbar and overall support.Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230 lb
Heavyweight back sleepers should get better support from the DreamCloud Premier mattress. That being said, the mattress might not be supportive enough for those who weigh over 300 lb. If you are over 300 lb, consider one of our best mattresses for heavy people. Heavyweight side sleepers should be more comfortable on the DreamCloud Premier Rest, but it still might not offer enough pressure relief for some. If you are a larger side sleeper, our list of the best mattresses for side sleepers will provide you with some more options. Stomach sleepers in this weight range will want to find a firmer, more supportive mattress overall. Heavier people need even more support under their hips when they are stomach sleeping, and both mattresses might let your hips sink in too far.Lightweight Sleepers – Under 230 lb
Lightweight people should like both the DreamCloud Premier and DreamCloud Premier Rest for back sleeping and side sleeping. Again, they might not press in far enough to notice a difference in firmness or support. However, stomach sleepers might still want to opt for the DreamCloud Premier.Mattress Construction Differences
Let’s take a closer look at the inner workings of the DreamCloud Premier and DreamCloud Premier Rest.Cover
Both mattresses feature a luxurious cashmere blend cover that is soft and breathable. The covers allow for some good airflow through the top of each mattress.Comfort Layers
The covers of the Premier and Premier Rest are both quilted with a soft memory foam layer. This adds some plushness to both mattresses and is nice and pressure-relieving. Below that, both mattresses feature a layer of contouring soft foam which provides even more pressure relief and, as the name suggests, contouring as well. Then, the Premier Rest features a layer of supportive foam that is not found in the Premier. This offers some more support for sleepers but also adds even more plushness to the top of the mattress. Finally, both mattresses contain a Dynamic Response layer. This is a responsive transition layer that keeps you from sinking too far into the mattress. This means you’ll feel the support of the coils without feeling the coils themselves.Support Layers
You’ll find supportive, individually-wrapped coils in both mattresses. These are high-grade, durable, and allow for good airflow through the mattress. The coils rest on a thin layer of base foam, which keeps the coils from damaging your bed frame or foundation.Mattress Height
The DreamCloud Premier mattress is 14” thick, and the DreamCloud Premier Rest is 16” thick.DreamCloud Premier and DreamCloud Premier Rest Size Options and Price

DreamCloud Premier and DreamCloud Premier Rest Performance Differences
I ran both mattresses through a gauntlet of tests. Let’s see who won.Sleeping Hot or Cold
The DreamCloud Premier and Premier Rest both feature some great cooling features. Breathable covers and airflow-promoting coils should keep both mattresses from trapping heat. Hybrid mattresses like this are usually a good match for hot sleepers, and the DreamCloud mattresses are no exception.Motion Transfer
Motion transfer is something every couple should consider when shopping for a new mattress. Basically, when your partner moves around at night, will you feel it on your side of the mattress? Is your new bed going to isolate that motion or not? The mattresses performed about the same during my motion transfer tests. I placed a glass of water on both mattresses and pushed into the other areas of the mattress, mimicking a nighttime disturbance. I saw some ripples in the water when I tested both mattresses. However, when I laid down on both mattresses and asked a coworker to roll around on the other side, I was not disturbed too much. I have felt better motion isolation on other mattresses, but the DreamCloud Premier and Premier Rest do not perform too poorly.Edge Support
A mattress with solid edge support will allow sleeping partners to sleep toward the edges of the mattress. Unfortunately, neither of the DreamCloud mattresses had excellent edge support. Sitting down, the coils collapsed under my weight, and I didn’t feel very secure. Lying down, I felt a bit more secure, but edge support is not a highlight of either mattress.Durability
The Premier and Premier Rest both feature durable materials such as high-grade coils and high-density foams. They also boast luxury designs and upholstery. Based on their construction, they should last for at least 7-10 years.Off-gassing
Off-gassing is a common occurrence with bed-in-a-box mattresses. When you unwrap a new mattress, you may notice a chemical smell. This is normal and, with most beds, the smell will dissipate within 48 hours. I noticed only a little off-gassing with the DreamCloud Premier and DreamCloud Premier Rest, but I was able to sleep on them the next day.Noise
When I rolled around on the DreamCloud Premier and Premier Rest, neither mattress made noise. They are quiet mattresses, but just note that they may start to squeak after you have had them for many years. This is typical for hybrid beds as coils can make noise with age.Sex
If you want a mattress for sex, the bouncier the better. A responsive mattress will allow you and your partner to move around with ease. These are both bouncier mattresses, so sexual partners should get the responsiveness they need.Company Policies
Let’s take a closer look at DreamCloud’s fine print.Warranty Info
Both mattresses come with a lifetime warranty.Sleep Trial
You get a 365-night sleep trial period with the DreamCloud Premier and Premier Rest.Return Policy
DreamCloud offers free shipping and returns with all models.FAQs
