Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe Vs. Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid Overview
The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe is a hybrid mattress with a complex construction. It’s expressly designed to sleep cool, and there are cooling features throughout this bed. The Aurora Luxe has a supportive feel and comes in three firmness options: Soft, Medium, and Firm. We focused on the Medium version in this review.
The Brooklyn Signature Hybrid is made by the same brand as the Aurora Luxe: Brooklyn Bedding. Like the Aurora Luxe, the Signature Hybrid comes in Soft, Medium, and Firm models. (Again, we’ve focused on the Medium model here.) It’s also a hybrid mattress, but it has a simpler construction than the Aurora Luxe and more of a pillow top feel. It’s a great value mattress, which is true for pretty much all the offerings from Brooklyn Bedding. Other mattresses from this brand include the Spartan, Bowery, Bloom Hybrid, Plank Hybrid, and more.

Firmness And Feel Differences
Whenever you’re shopping for a new mattress, it’s important to consider firmness and feel. These factors will tell you a lot about whether a bed might be a good fit for your preferred sleep position(s) and other sleep needs. So let’s take a close look at the firmness and feel on the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe and Brooklyn Signature Hybrid!
How Firm Are The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe And Signature Hybrid Mattresses?
We ranked the Medium models of both the Aurora Luxe and the Signature Hybrid around 6.5/10. The industry standard for average firmness is 6.5/10, so this suggests both mattresses are right around medium-firm. Both beds balance pressure-relieving foams with sturdy coils. (Again, this is true of the Medium models; note that the Soft and Firm versions of each mattress will feel a bit different.)
Even though we ranked these mattresses around the same firmness, it’s worth noting that the Signature Hybrid has a plusher construction that could make it feel a touch softer than the Aurora Luxe. In general, firmness is always a slightly subjective measurement.
Sleeping On The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe And Signature Hybrid Mattresses
We personally tested both the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora and the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid in all sleep positions. Here’s how we felt on each bed!
We found the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe to be a good match for back sleeping. It’s a supportive mattress that kept our hips and spine properly aligned. The Aurora Luxe did not excel when we moved to our side. We experienced notable pressure around the shoulder and hip. Side sleepers will almost certainly need a softer mattress. The Aurora Luxe offered good support for stomach sleeping. Our hips stayed elevated and aligned with the spine.
While back sleeping on the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid, we enjoyed an exceptional balance of comfort and support. Our hips sank in just the right amount for some pressure relief, but not so far that they tugged the spine out of alignment. We obtained decent pressure relief while side sleeping on the Signature Hybrid thanks to its plush pillow-top. That said, note that heavier-weight sleepers might feel more pressure. When we moved to our stomach, the Signature Hybrid felt decent but not great. We did get some spinal support, but the Aurora Luxe will probably be a better match for this sleeping position.
What Do The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe And Brooklyn Signature Hybrid Mattresses Feel Like?
The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe has a bouncy, responsive feel. It layers responsive foams over bouncy and supportive coils. This means sleepers shouldn’t feel stuck in the mattress, and it should be easy to change positions on this bed.
The Signature Hybrid has a plusher, pillow top feel. Sleepers sink into this mattress a touch more, but it’s still bouncy and responsive thanks to the TitanFlex foam and the coils. Those materials also make it easy to move around on this bed.
Average Weight Sleepers – 130lbs – 230lbs
The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe’s Medium model should be a great match for average-weight back sleepers, who will enjoy plenty of spinal support on this bed. Average-weight side sleepers will almost certainly feel too much pressure on the Aurora Luxe. This mattress should be supportive enough for average-weight stomach sleepers.
Average-weight back sleepers should enjoy a balance of comfort and support on the Medium version of the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid. Average-weight side sleepers who weigh less than 200 pounds should get enough pressure relief on this mattress, while folks who weigh closer to 230 pounds might want to opt for the Soft model. The Medium model of the Signature Hybrid could offer adequate support to stomach sleepers, but the Firm model will probably be an even better fit.
Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230lbs
Heavyweight back sleepers who weigh less than 300 pounds should feel well-supported on the Medium version of the Aurora Luxe. Folks who weigh more than that will probably want to consider a more supportive mattress, such as the Brooklyn Bedding Titan. Heavyweight side sleepers are all but guaranteed to feel too much pressure on this mattress. Meanwhile, heavyweight stomach sleepers might not get enough support.
The Signature Hybrid’s Medium model should offer adequate support to heavyweight sleepers who weigh less than 300 pounds. Folks who weigh more than that will probably require a mattress made for heavy people. This mattress could feel too firm for heavyweight side sleepers, who might press through the plusher comfort layers and “bottom out” in the firmer support layers. Heavyweight stomach sleepers will almost certainly require a more supportive mattress, such as the Titan Luxe Hybrid or Titan Firm Hybrid.
Lightweight Sleepers – Under 130lbs
The Aurora Luxe’s Medium model should offer lightweight back sleepers a nice blend of spinal support and pressure relief. Lightweight side sleepers probably won’t get enough pressure relief, however. Lightweight stomach sleepers should feel well-supported on this bed.
The Medium model of the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid should be a great match for lightweight sleepers of all stripes. It’s supportive enough for lightweight back and stomach sleepers while offering plenty of pressure relief to lightweight side sleepers.
Mattress Construction Differences
Now that you know what it feels like to sleep on top of the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe and Brooklyn Signature Hybrid, let’s take a look beneath the surface! We’ll detail each layer of the construction on these beds and share how different materials affect feel and performance.
Cover
The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe features a TitanCool cover that is soft, breathable, and cool to the touch. That cooling quality is thanks to the use of Phase Change Material, which absorbs body heat to create a cooler sleeping surface.
The Brooklyn Signature Hybrid’s cover is soft to the touch and quilted with soft foam. This gives the mattress a plush, pillow top feel.
Comfort Layers
The primary comfort layer on the Aurora Luxe consists of 1.5” of Brooklyn Bedding’s patented CopperFlex Foam, which offers body contouring and pressure relief. It’s also infused with copper to support cooling. Beneath this layer, there’s a 2” layer of hyper-elastic TitanFlex Foam; this material is bouncy, responsive, and infused with TitaniumGel for additional cooling. Finally, there’s a 1” transition layer made from swirl visco-elastic memory foam. The memory foam offers extra body contouring, while the gel swirl further promotes cooling.
The Signature Hybrid’s top comfort layer is made from 2” of TitanFlex Foam. This is the same material as the TitanFlex Foam that’s in the Aurora Luxe; it’s also bouncy, responsive, and features cooling infusions. Underneath the TitanFlex Foam, there’s a 2” layer of Energex Foam. This material is quite responsive and bouncy, and it helps buffer sleepers from the firmer support layer underneath.
Support Layers
The Aurora Luxe’s support layer features 8″ coils that are individually wrapped to help cut down on motion transfer. Underneath the coils, there’s a base layer made from high-density foam that creates structure and support for the mattress as a whole.
The Signature Hybrid uses 6″ Ascension coils in its support layer. These coils offer a lot of stability as well as a springy feel, and they’re individually wrapped to help minimize motion transfer. These coils also rest on a base layer of high-density foam.
Mattress Height
The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe is 13” tall, while the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid is a touch shorter at 12”.

Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe And Brooklyn Signature Hybrid Performance Differences
We ran these mattresses through a range of tests to see how they compared when it comes to temperature regulation, edge support, motion transfer, noise, and more. Let’s see how they performed!
Sleeping Hot Or Cold
Both the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe and the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid do a good job of sleeping cool, but the Aurora Luxe will stay even cooler than the Signature Hybrid. The Aurora Luxe includes cooling features in virtually every layer, including a TitanCool cover and copper and gel infusions in the comfort layers. Its tall coils also create lots of room for air to circulate throughout the mattress.
The Signature Hybrid also boasts some cooling materials in its construction, and its coils also allow for plenty of airflow throughout the mattress. But it’s not expressly designed for cooling in the same way as the Aurora Luxe. Still, either option could be a good mattress for hot sleepers.
Motion Transfer
Neither mattress excels here. These are both bouncy and responsive beds, which means movement easily travels across the surface. Sleep partners could be disturbed by each other’s movements during the night. That said, both beds utilize individually wrapped coils, so they will probably isolate motion better than more conventional innerspring mattresses.
Edge Support
When it comes to edge support, both the Aurora Luxe and the Signature Hybrid are decent but not great. We felt fairly secure while sitting and lying down near the edges of these beds, though the edges did collapse a bit.
If you bend down to tie your shoe while sitting on the edge of either bed, you’ll most likely feel like you could tumble off.
Durability
We called this a tie. Both the Aurora Luxe and the Signature Hybrid are made with high-quality materials that should stand the test of time, including sturdy coils. With proper care, each mattress should last for at least 7 – 10 years.
Off-Gassing
Another tie! We observed some initial off-gassing from both of these beds, which is common among bed-in-a-box mattresses. Any odors should dissipate within 24 – 48 hours.
Noise
We didn’t notice any significant noise while moving around on the Aurora Luxe and Signature Hybrid mattresses. Because both beds use coils, it’s possible those coils could start to squeak a bit down the road.
Sex
Both the Aurora Luxe and the Signature Hybrid should be a good mattress for sex. It’s easy to move around and change positions on both mattresses, and sexual partners shouldn’t feel stuck in either bed.
Company Policies
Think you might purchase one of these beds? Then take some time to acquaint yourself with the fine print! Here’s a quick overview of Brooklyn Bedding’s company policies.
Warranty Info
Because the Aurora Luxe and Signature Hybrid are sold by the same company, they come with the same warranty. Both beds come with a 10-year warranty, which is pretty standard in the online mattress space.
Sleep Trial
You can test out the Aurora Luxe and/or the Signature Hybrid for 120 nights risk-free. This gives you approximately four months to decide whether the mattress in question is a good fit.
Return Policy
If you’re not satisfied with the Aurora Luxe or Signature Hybrid mattress, then Brooklyn Bedding will work with you to find an appropriate solution. For instance, if the bed feels too soft or firm, they might send you a mattress topper to adjust the bed’s firmness. Or they could work with you to adjust the bed’s support system or swap in a different mattress model. If you’re still not happy, you can return the mattress for a full refund (so long as you initiate the return before the sleep trial is up).
