- They’re both sold on Amazon.
- Both mattresses have low price points.
- Both beds work well for lightweight sleepers.
Key Differences Between The Lucid And Linenspa?
Now, for the interesting part! Here’s how the Lucid and Linenspa mattresses differ.- The Lucid mattress is entirely made out of foam, while the Linenspa contains foam and coils.
- The Lucid mattress works better for average weight back and side sleepers.
- The Lucid mattress is 2” taller.
- The Linenspa mattress has a bouncy feel, while the Lucid feels more slow-moving.
- The Lucid mattress works better for couples because it isolates motion well and has good edge support.
Firmness and Feel Differences
Here at Mattress Clarity, we have a firmness scale that ranges from 1-10, with 6.5/10 representing medium-firm. This rating is also the industry standard, and it’s what the Lucid and Linenspa mattresses feel like. Both beds create comfort and support, but because of their constructions, they work well for different types of people.Sleeping On the Lucid and Linenspa Mattresses
On the Lucid mattress, back and side sleepers should feel supported and comfy. The high-density base foam helps keep the spine in alignment, while the soft comfort foams help cushion pressure points. The Lucid mattress doesn’t work well for most stomach sleepers, though. If this is your preferred sleeping position, you may want to take a look at our list of the best mattresses for stomach sleepers. The Linenspa mattress is better suited for lightweight back and side sleepers. This bed has a thinner comfort layer, so heavier folks may sink into the mattress and feel some pain along their shoulders and hips. We also don’t recommend the Linenspa mattress for stomach sleepers. The innersprings aren’t supportive enough to keep the hips in the proper alignment, so stomach sleepers might develop lower back pain on this bed. What Do The Lucid And Linenspa Mattresses Feel Like?
The Lucid mattress has a traditional slow-moving memory foam feel that contours the body. While this is great for pressure relief, it can make it difficult for people to move around on top of the mattress. The Linenspa mattress has a bouncy innerspring feel. When you rest on top of the bed, you’ll feel more of the support coils than the comfort foam. Because of this, it’s quite easy to move around on top of this mattress.Average Weight Sleepers – 130 lb – 230 lb
The Lucid mattress works well for average weight back and side sleepers. The thick comfort foams cradle the body and alleviate pain on pressure points. Meanwhile, the thick support layer helps keep the spine in its neutral alignment. Average weight stomach sleepers won’t get the necessary hip support on the Lucid mattress, however. Average weight back sleepers might get the support they need on the Linenspa mattress, but overall, we don’t think it’s the best match for folks who weigh more than 150 lb. Because it’s a thinner mattress, most average weight back and side sleepers will need some extra cushioning and could benefit from a memory foam mattress topper. We also don’t think the Linenspa mattress is firm enough for average weight stomach sleepers.Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230 lb
Back and side sleepers who weigh between 230 and 300 lb should feel supported on the Lucid memory foam mattress. People heavier than that may need some extra support – take a look at our list of the best mattresses for heavy people for some ideas. Again, we don’t think the Lucid is a great choice for heavyweight stomach sleepers. The Linenspa mattress isn’t quite supportive enough for heavy people. This 8” mattress has a thin comfort layer that won’t adequately relieve pressure along the shoulders and hips. When stomach sleeping, heavier folks might feel their hips sinking out of alignment.Lightweight Sleepers – Under 130 lb
Both mattresses work well for lightweight sleepers – in any sleeping position! People who weigh less than 130 lb won’t compress the top layers too much, so they will feel a great balance of comfort and support.Mattress Construction Differences
Now, let’s see what each mattress is made out of! Here’s a quick rundown of the Lucid and Linenspa’s construction.Cover
The Lucid mattress has a thin, breathable cover that promotes airflow. The Linenspa mattress’s cover is tufted with pieces of memory foam, giving it an extra boost of softness.Comfort Layers
The Lucid mattress has two foam comfort layers. The first, made out of ventilated gel memory foam, feels slow-moving and luxurious. And because of the gel infusion, this layer helps dissipate body heat! Beneath this, you’ll find a 2” transition layer made out of foam. The Linenspa mattress’s top layer is made with 1.5” of comfort foam. This material helps cushion the body, but because it’s so thin, it doesn’t feel as plush as the Lucid.Support Layer
In the Lucid mattress, you’ll find a 4.5” layer of high-density base foam. This material not only provides support – it’s also infused with bamboo and charcoal for cleanliness and cooling. For support, the Linenspa has a 6.5” layer of steel coils. These durable innersprings help support the spine, and because they allow room for airflow, they help keep the mattress cool.Mattress Height
The Lucid memory foam mattress is 10” tall. The Linenspa hybrid mattress is 8” tall.Lucid And Linenspa Mattress Size Options and price

Lucid And Linenspa Performance Differences
We can’t just look at construction, firmness, and feel. It’s also important to check out each mattress’s performance features. Keep reading to learn more about each bed’s cooling capabilities, motion transfer, edge support, and more.Sleeping Hot or Cold
Even though the Lucid mattress contains heat-dissipating gel foam, the Linenspa sleeps cooler. Linenspa’s innersprings create ample room for airflow, which aids in breathability and cooling.Motion Transfer
If you share a bed with someone, you’ll want to take stock of your bed’s motion transfer. If a bed doesn’t isolate movement well, you could wake up when your partner shifts sleeping positions during the night. Thanks to its all-foam construction, the Lucid isolates motion better than the bouncy Linenspa. When you’re resting on the Lucid memory foam mattress, you should hardly feel your partner (or pet) move around at night.Edge Support
You’ll also want to consider your mattress’s edge support if you share a bed with a partner. If a bed collapses near the sides, both people could be forced to sleep closer to the center of the mattress. Neither mattress has great edge support, but we have to give the win to Lucid. This mattress does collapse a bit when you rest on the sides, but you shouldn’t feel like you’ll roll off. If you sit on the side of the Linenspa mattress, you will significantly sink through the edge of the mattress.Durability
Luxury mattresses tend to last 7-10 years, but because both of these mattresses have a budget-friendly price tag, they aren’t quite as durable. We expect the Lucid mattress to last 5-7 years and the Linenspa 4 – 5 years.Off-Gassing
Off-gassing refers to the chemical smell often emitted after customers open bed-in-a-box mattresses. We experienced this when we unboxed both mattresses, but it’s no cause for concern. The smell completely dissipated after 48 hours.Noise
We didn’t hear any noise when testing the Lucid and Linenspa mattresses, however, it’s possible the Linenspa’s coils could start to squeak as time goes on.Sex
Partners looking for the best mattress for sex typically want a bed that’s easy to move around on. Because the Linenspa has a springy feel, it’s a better choice for getting intimate. The Lucid mattress has a slow-moving feel, which could make couples feel “stuck inside” the mattress.Company Policies
We can’t forget to look at the fine print! Here’s what you can expect if you purchase from Lucid or Linenspa.Warranty Info
Both the Lucid and Linenspa mattresses are backed by 10-year warranties.Sleep Trial
Both mattresses have 30-night sleep trial periods.Return Policy
If you aren’t a fan of your new mattress, you can return it for a full refund – as long as it’s within the first 30 days.FAQs
Check out our FAQ section for even more information!Which mattress is better, Lucid or Linenspa?
The answer ultimately depends on what you need from a mattress. The Linenspa mattress has a lower price point, but it’s not suited for anyone who weighs more than 150 lb. We recommend the Lucid for average weight back and side sleepers who love slow-moving memory foam beds.
How long will the Lucid and Linenspa mattresses last?
Because it’s thicker, we expect the Lucid to last a little bit longer than the Linenspa – at least 5 – 7 years. The Linenspa mattress will likely only last about 4 – 5 years.
Can you flip the Lucid and Linenspa mattresses?
No, you can’t flip either mattress. Both beds are designed with support layers on the bottom and comfort layers on top. If you flipped either one, it wouldn’t feel comfortable.
