Cozy Earth Comforter Video Review

Cozy Earth Comforter Materials

From sheets, to loungewear, Cozy Earth bedding is known for using bamboo in its products. We’ve reviewed the Cozy Earth bamboo sheet set before, which is 100% bamboo viscose. And the comforter is no different.

This is a fully bamboo comforter from the inside, to the outside!

Cover

On the outside, you’ll find a very soft to the touch cover made of bamboo viscose. Bamboo is a great material for hot sleepers because it’s known to be temperature regulating, breathable, and moisture-wicking.

Cozy Earth Comforter - A man pinches the fabric on the comforter.

This comforter is designed to act on its own, but can act as an insert for a duvet cover, and has corner loops to attach a cover to it.

As of right now, Cozy Earth only sells its comforter in a white color option.

Fill

On the inside, you’ll find a fill made of high quality bamboo fiber. This doesn’t feel as fluffy as down or down alternatives, but it still makes for a very cozy feel.

Cozy Earth Comforter

You also have the option to choose a silk comforter, but for this review I received the queen/full sized bamboo comforter.

If you choose the silk option, the inside fill will be long-strand mulberry silk.

Warmth

Cozy Earth sells its comforter in two warmth options, standard and extra.

The standard comforter I received is fairly thin and doesn’t look as fluffy or puffy as other comforters I’ve reviewed.

However, it still did a great job at retaining a comfortable warmth when I used it. The standard option will be a great pick for hot sleepers, like myself. Overheating won’t be an issue. I can also see this being great for year-round use, too.

If you’re the type of person who likes a thicker comforter, or gets cold quickly and needs to layer up often, then I suggest going with the extra option.

Allergies/Allergens?

Bamboo is known to be hypoallergenic and can resist common allergens, like dust and dust mites, in your sleep environment. If you have sensitive allergies, this comforter could be for you.

Cozy Earth Comforter - A black and white cat rests on the foot of a bed, on top of the comforter.

This comforter also has an OEKO-Tex certification, which means the bamboo viscose was made without any toxins or harmful chemicals.

Sleeping With the Cozy Earth Comforter

As a fan of bamboo, this is one of the softest comforters I’ve encountered. As a hot sleeper, I also enjoy bamboo products because I never sleep too hot with them, and the Cozy Earth comforter is no different.

Cozy Earth Comforter - A man sleeps on his side with the comforter.

Because bamboo has moisture-wicking properties to it, night sweats weren’t an issue for me. And even though this was a thinner comforter, I still felt very comfy underneath it. The standard option could be great for year-round use, but I would typically only need it during colder months.

Caring for the Cozy Earth Comforter

When it comes to care instructions, comforters require more attention than bed sheets or blankets. Here’s how you care for the Cozy Earth comforter.

Cozy Earth recommends that you spot or dry clean the comforter before anything. The comforter is not fully machine washable, but if you need to put it in the washing machine, Cozy Earth recommends a rinse cycle only.

To machine dry, use a delicate setting–if you have one–with low heat. You can also hang dry.

To prevent frequent washing and cleaning, it would be best to use a duvet cover.

It’s also recommended to hang dry out in the sun for a few hours every three or so months so the bamboo can naturally refresh itself.

How does the Cozy Earth Comforter Compare to other Comforters?

So, if you’re thinking about buying a Cozy Earth comforter but are still on the fence, let’s see how it compares to other comforters on the market.

Cozy Earth vs Riley

One thing that sets the Cozy Earth bamboo comforter apart from other comforters is that it is technically a down alternative comforter, but not in the typical sense. It uses bamboo fibers over general down alternative microfibers.

Riley’s down alternative comforter is full of a hypoallergenic microfiber that gives the comforter a good bit of plushness. It is a much thicker comforter than the Cozy Earth. But, like Cozy Earth, you have the option to pick a standard or year-round model, and an extra warm model. So, both comforter options are great for meeting multiple needs.

On the outside of the Riley comforter is a cotton shell, which tends to feel much crisper than bamboo. Cotton is known to be a breathable material, just like bamboo, so both should keep you at a comfortable body temperature while using them.

Both of these comforters only have white options, and are on the more luxurious side. However, the Riley comforter is a bit lower in price than the Cozy Earth comforter.

Who Should Get the Cozy Earth Comforter?

Cozy Earth vs Brooklinen

Maybe you’re a fan of traditional down, and love the feel of soft feathers in your comforter. The Brooklinen is one of our favorite down comforters, so here’s how it stacks up against the Cozy Earth comforter.

On the outside of this comforter, there is a crisp, cotton cover. You can choose from three thickness options to fit your needs: lightweight, all-season, and ultra warm. The Cozy Earth only has two, but you also have the option to select a silk fill.

Brooklinen Down Comforter Review

Down isn’t the best at fighting allergens in your sleep environment. In fact, sometimes the feathers can trap dust and other microbes. If you’re looking for a more hypoallergenic pick the Cozy Earth will be the better option for you.

  • Anyone needing a hypoallergenic comforter
  • Fans of soft bamboo fabric

FAQs

Still have questions? I’m here to help out. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions on this comforter.

Are Cozy Earth Comforters good?

While “good” can be pretty subjective, I’d have to say that the Cozy Earth comforter is a stand out. Many customers gave it 5 star reviews, and it should help hot sleepers avoid hot flashes during the night. It’s a thinner comforter and bamboo is known for its cooling properties. But with an extra warm option, cold sleepers should also find what they need.

Is Cozy Earth a US company?

It is! Cozy Earth is based out of Utah, and prides itself on having a direct supply chain with ethical factories. Its bamboo bed sheets and comforters are all safe and made ethically.

Is Cozy Earth worth the money?

I would classify Cozy Earth products as a luxury pick on the market. But I think you get what you pay for!

Cozy Earth’s sheets and comforters are guaranteed against pilling, and are full of high quality materials. The sheets are some of the softest sheets we’ve encountered. You can read our full Cozy Earth Bamboo sheets review to learn more about the sheets set.
