There are a lot of bamboo sheets on the market, and it might be hard to tell one set apart from another. But when it comes to the TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon sheet set, there are some clear differences from other brands.

In my unbiased TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon sheets review, I’ll go over how these sheets are different from other bamboo sheets, as well as cover the materials, my testing experience with them, price and more.

TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon Sheets Overview

When you think of the mattress industry, TEMPUR-Pedic is at the top of the list when it comes to brands that pop up. We’ve reviewed a number of TEMPUR products here at Mattress Clarity, from the TEMPUR-LuxeBreeze mattress to the TEMPUR-Adapt mattress topper, and we’ve also reviewed some of the most popular TEMPUR pillows as well.

But TEMPUR-Pedic doesn’t leave its customers hanging when it comes to bedding: the brand  sells four different sheet sets. This review will focus on TEMPUR’s rayon sheet set. Here’s a quick rundown on who will enjoy these sheets, and who might need to consider something else:

What Do the TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon Sheets Feel Like?

Unlike your traditional bamboo sheets, which are typically woven with a sateen or twill weave, the TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon sheets are woven with a jersey knit. This gives these sheets that soft, T-shirt-like feel. TEMPUR mentions that they should feel silky as well, but after an initial wash, to me, I felt more of that jersey feel. I also noticed that, unlike other bamboo sheets, these sheets had a bit of stretch to them as well.

TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon Sheets Materials

TEMPUR-Pedic uses 100% rayon, a material that’s derived from bamboo. This gives the sheets a soft feel, and it’s naturally hypoallergenic, breathable and moisture-wicking. TEMPUR-Pedic designed these sheets to work with its mattresses, but they can fit on any mattress just fine.

The pockets are 13” deep so they should work well for most average height mattresses (usually 8” to 12” tall). TEMPUR-Pedic has something called “ultimate fit” for the fitted sheets. In addition to the standard elastic band in the fitted sheet, there’s an additional elastic band in each corner that allows for a more secure fit on your mattress.

30-60 Min Nap with the TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon Sheets

I’ve tested dozens of bamboo based sheet sets, so I can generally assume how a set of sheets will perform before I’ve even touched them. So, imagine my surprise when I pulled the TEMPUR-Pedic sheets out of their packaging and felt something soft and T-shirt-like. These sheets felt like high-quality jersey sheets, but they also had that signature bamboo silkiness.

When I was dressing the bed, I noticed that the sheets also had a bit of stretch, which was another surprise for me, as bamboo sheets don’t normally have a stretch to them. The additional, diagonal strap in the fitted sheet also really helped keep it tight and secure on the mattress.

Climbing into bed for a quick nap, the rayon sheets performed about how I expected them to. They have a really soft and lightweight feel, so they were great for me as I tested them out in the middle of the summer. I didn’t feel hot and sweaty under these sheets, even when I added an extra thin layer like a knit blanket on top.

Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Rayon Bamboo Sheet Set

Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Rayon Bamboo Sheet Set

The TEMPUR-Rayon from Bamboo Sheet Set is designed to be a non-slip, moisture-wicking option with a luxury feel.

What to Consider Before Buying

Now that I’ve covered the main performance of the TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon sheets, let’s cover a few more considerations to keep in mind about these sheets.

Sleeping Hot or Cold

Bamboo sheets are a great option for hot sleepers. They are breathable and moisture-wicking, so this means when you sleep with them, you won’t feel hot and sweaty. The TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon sheets also have a bit of stretch to them, so they can open up and really let air flow through them. Hot sleepers, and even extremely hot sleepers, shouldn’t have to worry about overheating with these.

Care Instructions

You can wash the TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon sheets. TEMPUR-Pedic doesn’t offer any specific care instructions, just that you can wash them. But a general rule of thumb to washing bamboo sheets is to wash them with cold water, on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. You can tumble dry on low heat and remove promptly.

Allergies

Bamboo is naturally hypoallergenic. The TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon sheets won’t attract or trap allergens in your sleep environment, and should feel soft and smooth on sensitive skin.

Company Policies

Here’s what TEMPUR-Pedic offers when you purchase a set of the rayon sheets.

Set Includes

For this review, I received the queen-size set of the rayon sheets. It included

  • A fitted sheet
  • A top sheet
  • Two pillow cases.

TEMPUR-Pedic offers this set in all bed sizes, twin to California king, as well as split king and split California king. The twin and twin XL sets include only one pillowcase, while the rest will include two.

The rayon sheets are offered in five different colors: white, vintage indigo, sandstone, cool gray and sleepy blue.

Return Policy

TEMPUR-Pedic does offer free shipping and a one-year warranty on these sheets. However, the rayon sheets are not eligible for returns or exchanges. All sales are final.

How Do the TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon Sheets Compare To Other Sheets?

Not convinced yet that these are the sheets for you? Let’s compare the TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon sheets to two sets of sheets made from other materials, cotton and linen, from Brooklinen and Parachute.

TEMPUR vs Brooklinen

Brooklinen is a popular bedding brand that makes a number of different sheets. Most of Brooklinen’s best sellers are cotton sheets. The Classic sheet set uses cotton woven into a percale weave. This weave style gives the Classic sheets a crisp feel that feels like a fresh pressed button up shirt. The TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon sheets will feel vastly different from Brooklinen.

The rayon sheets were woven with a jersey knit, and that leaves these sheets feeling like a stretchy, soft T-shirt. And thanks to the presence of bamboo, these sheets will have a slight silky feel. So if you’re not the biggest fan of crisp cotton sheets, the TEMPUR sheets are the way to go. Both are offered in a few colors, but Brooklinen really excels in this department, offering limited edition colors as well as more unique design options as well.

TEMPUR vs Parachute

Linens are known for having a bit of texture to them, but high-quality linens like the Parachute linens still feel soft to the touch. And if you’re looking for a more eco-friendly, natural set of sheets, the Parachute sheets are the better choice. Rayon sheets are often blended with synthetic materials.

Both sets of sheets are great for hot sleepers because of their breathability and moisture-wicking properties, but the big difference between the two is feel and price. The Parachute sheets will get softer over time, but right out of the box, they’ll have a slightly coarse texture to them, while the TEMPUR sheets are soft, smooth and stretchy.

These sheets are offered in a variety of colors, but the price for the Parachute sheets will come down to whether or not you’re opting for the top sheet. The base set for the Parachute linens is two pillowcases and a fitted sheet, and adding the top sheet will increase the price. The full set for the TEMPUR sheets is all one price, and is considerably more affordable when compared to the Parachute sheets.

TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon Sheets FAQs

Do TEMPUR-Pedic mattresses need special sheets?

No. You can certainly dress a TEMPUR-Pedic mattress with any sheets. However, many mattress brands these days have streamlined the mattress buying process. So, if you want to get a TEMPUR-Pedic mattress and get some new sheets all in the same purchase, you can do that.

Is rayon or cotton better for sheets?

This will boil down to personal preference. Both materials are great for hot sleepers, but rayon is often bamboo material blended with synthetic materials, while cotton tends to be more “all-natural.” If you want something that is more often organic, cotton sheets are the way to go. But rayon sheets feel soft, silky and are moisture-wicking so they might be better for people who are extremely hot sleepers.

How long will the TEMPUR-Pedic Rayon sheets last?

Around three-to-five years. TEMPUR-Pedic offers a one-year warranty on these sheets, but bamboo sheets are fairly durable. With good care, these sheets should last you a number of years.
