When it comes to cotton sheets, it doesn’t get more luxurious and high-end than Egyptian cotton. Some companies may claim they use Egyptian cotton, but Pure Parima ensures that it does with certified authentic cotton. The brand makes six sets of cotton sheets, but the Yalda set is one of its most popular.

In my unbiased review, I’ll cover everything you need to know about the Pure Parima Yalda sheets. I’ll go over my testing experience, explain the construction, price, and much more so keep reading to get all the info.

Pure Parima Yalda Sheets Overview

Pure Parima is a bedding company that makes six sets of Egyptian cotton sheets as well as duvet covers, pillows, comforters, and mattress protectors. Pure Parima prides itself on using 100% certified authentic Egyptian cotton in its sheets. This review focuses on the Yalda set. Here’s a quick overview of the sheets to help you decide if this is the set of sheets for you:

What Do the Pure Parima Yald Sheets Feel Like?

The Pure Parima sheets are constructed with a sateen weave. This is one of two main weave styles for cotton sheets, and it leaves the sheets feeling soft and buttery smooth. These won’t have a crisp feel like percale cotton sheets usually have.

A hand glides over the top of the Pure Parima Yalda Sheets to show of the feeling.

Be sure to check out our percale vs sateen sheets article to learn more about the difference between these two weave styles.

Pure Parima Yalda Sheets Materials

Pure Parima uses 100% authentic, long-staple Egyptian cotton in all of its sheets. Long-staple cotton means that the cotton threads are long and thin, but are made to be quite durable. This helps the Yalda sheet last a good amount of time.

Egyptian cotton is also said to be softer than other forms of cotton, and having tested a ton of cotton sheets, I can say this is true. The Yalda sheets felt really soft and smooth, not just because of the weave style, but the cotton felt luxurious and high-quality as well.

As I mentioned, these are authentic Egyptian cotton sheets, as Pure Parima uses cotton that is certified by the Cotton Egypt Association. This certification verifies that the cotton is actually grown in the Nile River Valley in Egypt.

30-60 Min Nap with the Pure Parima Yalda Sheets

To really put the sheets to the test, I always take a quick nap with them to get a better feel for how they might perform in the long run.

Climbing into bed with the Yalda sheets, I can’t lie, I was pretty comfortable from the get-go. When it comes to cotton sheets, I’ll pick smooth sateen over crisp percale any day. The Yalda sheets are so buttery and comfy that I settled into bed with ease, and within minutes I was off to dreamland.

A man sleeps on his side with the Pure Parima Yalda sheets.

I will say, I tested this set on a mattress that was about 10” tall. And the fitted sheet has pockets that are 18” deep. I tend to toss and turn, so when I woke up from my nap, I needed to adjust the fitted sheet to make it nice and tight again.

If you have a taller bed, or are using a topper that adds some height to your mattress, this shouldn’t be too much of an issue. But just note, if you have a thinner mattress, you may need to tuck the fitted sheet around the corners.

Overall, if you want a smooth set of cotton sheets that are fairly lightweight and breathable, the Yalda set is a worthy investment.

What to Consider Before Buying

Let’s take a look at some more important considerations before clicking “check out.”

Sleeping Hot or Cold

These lightweight sheets didn’t feel thick and heavy, so I didn’t feel a lot of heat build up while I rested. Cotton is known for its breathability, so hot sleepers shouldn’t overheat at night.

RELATED: Best Cooling Sheets

I tend to sleep with two thin layers: a top sheet and a thin knit blanket I got from a supermarket. When I tested the Yalda sheets, the blanket did hinder the breathability a bit, but with my ceiling fan and air conditioning running, I still didn’t face any issues.

Care Instructions

The Pure Parima Yalda sheets are machine-washable. Pure Parima recommends that you don’t wash the set with anything else in the load.

From there, wash on either a cold or warm water cycle (never hot) and use a mild, liquid detergent. Pure Parima also recommends using half the recommended amount of detergent to avoid any residue buildup.

As for drying, you can line dry if you’re able, but you can also tumble dry the sheets on the lowest heat setting your machine has. Excessive heat can destroy the fine Egyptian cotton fibers.

Allergies

While not listed as a hypoallergenic product, cotton is not known to trap or attract allergens, nor is it known to trigger allergies. Plus, the sheets are machine-washable, so any dirt or dust that ends up on the sheets, you can get rid of with a wash cycle.

Company Policies

Let’s take a look at the company policies Pure Parima offers for its sheets.

Set Includes

For this review, I received a queen-size Yalda set. This included:

  • A fitted sheet
  • A top sheet
  • Two standard pillowcases

The Yalda set is offered in twin all the way up to split king sizes. The twin and twin XL sets come with one pillowcase, while all three king-size (king, California king, and split king) sets come with king-size pillowcases. Pure Parima offers the Yalda set in 12 colors, ranging from shades of white to blue, pink, black, and others.

Return Policy

The Pure Parima Yalda set has a 100-night trial period. During this time, if you decide the Yalda set is not for you, you can issue a return or an exchange. Pure Parima offers free shipping for returns for those who live in the contiguous United States, which means free shipping is not included for Alaska or Hawaii.

How Do the Pure Parima Yalda Sheets Compare To Other Sheets?

Chances are, if you’re shopping around for some new sheets, you may have a few different brands or materials in mind. Let’s take a look at how the Yalda sheet set, which uses the sateen weave, stacks up to a percale set of sheets from Brooklinen and a linen set of sheets from Parachute.

Pure Parima vs Brooklinen

Cotton is incredibly common when it comes to sheets, and it’s often woven into two main styles: percale and sateen. The Pure Parima Yalda sheet set uses a sateen weave, which makes it feel super soft and buttery smooth. For its Classic sheets, Brooklinen uses the percale weave. This gives the Brooklinen sheets a crisp feeling. The best way I can describe it is to think of a fresh-pressed button down shirt. If you prefer a softer, smoother set of sheets, opt for the Yalda set. But if you like a lightweight, crisp sheet, go for Brooklinen.

Both Pure Parima and Brooklinen have color options. But Brooklinen really shines in this department. You can get solid colors from both companies, but Brooklinen also offers design options. You have choices from a simple stripe pattern to a windowpane look, to even limited edition options that have floral or leaf designs.

Pure Parima vs Parachute

When you compare the cotton and linen fabrics, the differences all come down to the feel. Cotton can feel anywhere from smooth, to crisp, to even fuzzy if you get a set of flannel sheets. But linen sheets have a characteristic texture to them. Not everyone enjoys this, so if you’re torn between a cotton set like the Yalda and a linen set like the Parachute sheets, this is the most important thing to know.

Both Parachute and Pure Parima offer these sheet sets in a variety of solid colors . And both cotton and linen sheets are great for hot sleepers because they’re often lightweight and uber breathable. Ultimately, it just boils down to the texture and feel you want in your sheets.

Pure Parima Yalda Sheets FAQsd

How do I know if my sheets are 100% Egyptian cotton?

Look for a certification of authenticity. Brands that purchase authentic Egyptian cotton from farmers in the Nile River Valley will often go through a certification process to ensure authenticity. One such organization is the Cotton Egypt Association, which Pure Parima has worked with to ensure the sheets contain real Egyptian cotton.

This organization will perform a DNA test on the cotton to verify that it was grown in Egypt. Because Egyptian cotton is imported, and if it has a certification of authenticity, Egyptian cotton sheets will often be a bit pricier than other sheets.

What’s a good thread count for Egyptian cotton sheets?

Around 300 to 800 is what most experts will tell you. I should point out that thread count isn’t an “end all, be all” indicator of how high-quality a set of sheets is. It’s just one piece of the total picture. Pure Parima doesn’t list a thread count for the Yalda set because of this reason.

Be sure to read our article “What’s The Best Thread Count for Sheets” to learn all about thread count.

What’s the difference between cotton and Egyptian cotton sheets?

Outside of where the cotton is grown, the main difference is feel, durability, and breathability. Egyptian cotton is much softer and can be made into longer, more durable threads. This helps make sets like the Yalda sheets a long-lasting investment, especially with good care.
