What Do the Puffy Bamboo Sheets Feel Like?
If you’re a fan of bamboo sheets, then you know that they feel rather soft and silky.
The Puffy bamboo sheets are no different! This is much different than traditional cotton sheets, which tend to feel more crisp.
These sheets feel very cool to the touch, and aren’t too thick either.
Puffy Bamboo Sheets Materials
As the name suggests, the Puffy bamboo sheets are made out of 100% bamboo viscose. This is a material made from bamboo fibers, and has some natural breathability to it.
Bamboo is also known for its moisture-wicking properties, meaning you won’t feel hot and sweaty.
These are deep pocket sheets as well, and can fit mattresses up to 15” tall. They have sturdy elastic with additional bands in the corners to attach the fitted sheet securely to your bed.
If you tend to toss and turn or change sleeping positions, this is great news. Your fitted sheet shouldn’t pop up during the night.
Currently, Puffy only sells their sheets in white and gray color options.

As mentioned, bamboo tends to feel much different than traditional cotton sheets. If cotton is your preference, know that bamboo doesn’t feel as crisp or as thick as cotton sheets do.
Puffy’s sheets have a 300 thread count, which just refers to the number of threads woven into a square inch of fabric. This thread count is a recommended number for bamboo sheets.

They’re also made with a sateen weave, which is one of two common weaves for sheets, the other being percale. A sateen weave leaves sheets feeling rather silky. If you want to learn more about the difference between percale vs sateen, we’ve got a full guide for you!
Sleeping Hot or Cold
Bamboo is known to be breathable, non heat-trapping, and moisture-wicking. This combo of properties is great news for hot sleepers.
From my experience, I always sleep cool under bamboo sheets–even as a hot sleeper–so if you’re like me, then these are a great option.
And with a lower thread count, these sheets will be great for airflow, which helps dissipate body heat.
Care Instructions
Taking care of your sheets is part of good hygiene! Here’s how you care for your Puffy sheets.
These bamboo sheets are machine washable, and you’ll wash them with cold water, a mild detergent, and on the delicate setting.
Once they’re done, into the dryer they go, and tumble dry on low.
Allergies
Bamboo has some natural antibacterial properties to it, and can resist natural allergens in your sleep environment. Because of this, this makes them a great hypoallergenic pick for people with sensitive skin or allergies.
These sheets also carry an OEKO-Tex certification, which means no harmful chemicals or toxins went into making them.
Company Policies
Here’s what you can expect when you buy the Puffy bamboo sheet set.
Set Includes
For this review, I received the queen size set, which included a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and two pillowcases. This is what you’ll get if you purchase the full size option as well.
Twin and twin xl size options will have a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and one pillowcase.
King and California king sets will include everything mentioned, but the pillowcases will be king sized.
Return Policy
Puffy offers a 101-night sleep trial for this set of sheets. If, during the trial period, you decide these aren’t the sheets for you, you can return them for a full refund.
If you decide to keep them, these sheets carry a lifetime warranty.
How Do the Puffy Bamboo Sheets Compare To Other Sheets?
When looking for new sheets, you might be looking at multiple options. I’m here to take some of the guesswork out of buying a new set of sheets and compare the Puffy bamboo sheet set to some others on the market.
Puffy Vs. Purple
While both are made of bamboo, there are some big differences between Puffy’s bamboo set and Purple’s SoftStretch set.
The SoftStretch set features rayon, which is based from bamboo viscose. But this sheet set is made with a blend of rayon, polyester, and spandex. The addition of spandex gives these sheets a good amount of stretch. Puffy’s sheets are made from 100% bamboo viscose and don’t stretch.
The SoftStretch sheets will stretch and conform with your body to help you feel maximum levels of comfort while you sleep.
However, to some, this stretch might not be the easiest to move around in. These sheets also were designed to work best with the grid found in a Purple mattress.
Puffy’s bamboo sheets don’t stretch, and they feel soft and silky, while Purple’s feel more like a dri-FIT T-shirt. But both should sleep relatively cool because of their bamboo based materials.
Purple’s sheets also have a few more color options to pick from over Puffy’s two. And finally, in terms of price, Purple’s are just a bit more affordable.
Who Should Get the Puffy Bamboo Sheets?
- Anyone looking for more traditional, soft feeling bamboo sheets
- Combo sleepers who change positions frequently during the night
Who Should Get the Purple SoftStretch Sheets?
- Purple product fans
- Anyone looking for color options to pick from

Puffy Vs. Casper
One other cooling fabric out there is Tencel. Like bamboo, it has some moisture-wicking properties so you shouldn’t sleep sweaty under either type of sheets. Here’s how Puffy stacks up against Casper’s Hyperlite sheet set.
The Casper Hyperlite set is made from 100% Tencel lyocell, which is a natural material derived from eucalyptus. These sheets will feel very soft, but they’re quite thin and cool to the touch.
Puffy’s bamboo sheets feel fairly soft as well, but they aren’t as thin as the Hyperlite set. While you’ll sleep cool with both sheet sets, Puffy’s might be a better option if you get cold quickly.
RELATED: Best Cooling Sheets
Both sheets can fit tall mattresses, but not only do I love Puffy’s deep pockets, I love the thick, sturdy bands in the fitted sheet as well. These sheets will definitely stay put as you sleep. If you toss and turn a lot, Casper’s set may start to lift at the sides.
Currently, Puffy only sells its bamboo sheets in white and gray, while Casper has a few more color options to choose from. Finally, in terms of price, Casper’s a bit more affordable.
Who Should Get the Puffy Bamboo Sheets?
- Fans of bamboo sheets
- People looking for a secure fitted sheet
Who Should Get the Casper Hyperlite Sheets?
- People looking for a few more color options
- Shoppers on a budget
