Those searching for an elegant, hotel-quality sheet set should look no further than the Saatva Organic Sateen Sheets. These truly are some of the best sheets on the market, making many of our “best of” lists. The sateen weave gives them a super soft feel, similar to satin.
Saatva uses 100% organic cotton that has a Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification. This is considered the highest quality certification for organic materials. This means that the cotton is grown in a sustainable, ethical, and safe way. These sheets have a lightweight feel and are very breathable, so they shouldn’t trap a lot of heat, either.
What We Love About the Saatva Organic Sateen Sheets
- The sateen weave gives these sheets a soft, satin-like feel.
- Saatva uses high-quality, certified organic cotton in its sheets. This could make them a good choice for eco-conscious shoppers.
What To Keep in Mind About the Saatva Organic Sateen Sheets
- Saatva is all about creating a luxury hotel experience for your home. But with that comes a luxury price tag and a limited color selection. Shoppers with a budget in mind, or those who want color variety, should look elsewhere.

The best cooling sheets are ones that will keep you at a comfortable temperature, but also keep the night sweats at bay. The Brooklyn Bedding Deep Pocket Bamboo sheets will do just that! Bamboo rayon is a material that’s both breathable and moisture-wicking. This means when you sleep with them, you shouldn’t feel hot and sweaty.
Bamboo is also naturally hypoallergenic, so it won’t trap or attract allergens in your sleep environment. The pockets are 17″ deep, meaning they can fit most average height mattresses (8″-12″ tall) and mattresses with a topper on them. No popping corners here.
What Makes the Brooklyn Bedding Deep Pocket Bamboo Sheets Stand Out?
- Brooklyn Bedding often includes these sheets in seasonal discounts. If you’re shopping around the right time, you can often get these for less than some other bamboo sheets on the market.
- These sheets are breathable and moisture-wicking, so you can stay cool and dry while you sleep.
- These sheets will feel softer and smoother than some crisp cotton sheets out there. If you don’t love that crisp feel, these are definitely worth looking into.
What to Keep In Mind About the Brooklyn Bedding Deep Pocket Bamboo Sheets
- While these are a great choice for hot sleepers, if you live in colder climates or tend to get cold quickly, these may be too thin to add substantial warmth.

Best Cotton – Brooklinen Luxe Core Set
Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheets

Mattress Clarity Score
4.60 / 5
Read Full ReviewOur Expert’s Take
Brooklinen makes a number of cotton sheet sets, and the Luxe Core sheets are great for king-size beds. This set of sheets uses a sateen weave, which means the cotton threads are woven in a way that leaves the sheets with a soft, buttery feel. Sateen sounds similarly to “satin,” and that’s kind of the experience you’ll get with these sheets.
One of my favorite things about Brooklinen is the variety. The brand offers some standard color choices that don’t change, and they have a revolving door of color and design options. This makes these sheets great for those who want to match a color scheme or just like having variety to choose from.
What We Love About the Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheets
- Brooklinen offers a wide variety of color and design options.
- The sateen weave gives these sheets a soft, almost satin-like look and feel. They won’t feel crisp like some other cotton sheets.
- There are “long” and “short” labels on the fitted sheet, which takes out the guesswork of making your bed.
What to Keep In Mind About the Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheets
- These sheets should be good for year-round use. However, they do have a higher thread count than some others, meaning they’ll retain heat a bit more. Hot sleepers may find these sheets to be a bit stuffy.

This is a TENCEL, or TENCEL lyocell, set, which is derived from eucalyptus. They feel soft, smooth and slightly cool to the touch. You’ll be able to sleep cool with these sheets because they’re also very breathable and moisture-wicking. All while ensuring that the corners stay put during the night.

Our Expert’s Take
Flannel sheets are great for those that like to cozy up with a thick, fuzzy top sheet and stay nice and warm all night. Another set by Brooklinen, the Flannel Core Sheet set is a stand out amongst other flannel sheets out there.
These are some of the softest flannel sheets because the cotton has been brushed. This makes the cotton feel slightly fuzzy, but gives the sheets that classic flannel cozy feel.

- If you live in a cold climate, or just get cold quickly, these could be a good option. These flannel sheets are fuzzy and cozy and retain a good amount of heat.
- Brooklinen offers its flannel sheets in a variety of color and design options.

What to Consider When Looking for the Best King-Size Sheets
When you upgrade to a king-size bed, new sheets are a must. But this is the one of the biggest sizes of mattress available, so what should you look for when choosing a set of sheets to dress it with? Let’s talk about some key considerations to keep in mind.
What is the Size of King Size Bed Sheets?
A king-size bed measures 76” by 80”. And you might think, “Ok, so the sheets are the same.” This is only true for the fitted sheet. The top/flat sheet, however, will need to be oversized so it can drape over your bed or be tucked in for a good night’s sleep.
Most king-size top sheets will measure 110” by 104”. This is true for most sets on this list, though the Saatva set has a top sheet that measures 114” by 114”. Keep in mind, many sheets are machine-washable these days and there could be some shrinkage happening, so be sure to check the washing instructions provided to prevent as much shrinkage as possible.
Price
It’s plain and simple: King-size sheets use the most material out of any bed size, so they will cost the most as a result. Most companies will price a California king and king at the same price, however. Split king sets will likely cost even more, as many include two fitted sheets.
Many companies will discount sheets in addition to mattresses, so be sure to check out the holiday discounts throughout the year. Other factors that influence the price are materials and certifications acquired for them.
Materials
Speaking of, there are many different types of materials used for sheets. Cotton and bamboo were featured throughout this list, but there are also microfiber or polyester, linens, and silks, to name just a few.
Not all materials will feel or perform the same, either. Microfiber sheets have an affordable price point, but they also aren’t always the best for hot sleepers. There are three different types of cotton: Supima, standard, and Egyptian cotton, and these can all be made with different thread counts because of how the cotton fibers can be processed.
Bamboo–either viscose or rayon–sheets feel soft, smooth, and silky, especially when compared to a cotton set that’s made with the percale weave. Weave style influences feel as well, and percale sheets are very crisp, while sateen sheets feel more like satin.
These days many mattress and bedding companies make sheets that are OEKO-Tex certified, which is fairly standard practice. This certification means that the production process is free of harmful chemicals.
All this to say, there’s a lot of variety out there when trying to find the best bed sheets.
The Best King Sized Sheets FAQs
Can California king sheets fit on a king size bed?
The only pieces of a king-size set of sheets that you can use on a California king bed are the pillowcases and the top sheet. The measurements for a California king are 72” by 84” while a king measures 76” by 80”. The fitted sheet from a king size set won’t fit a California king size mattress. The good news is that most companies price a king and a California king size set of sheets the same. Or, some companies will sell individual fitted sheets.
Can you use king size sheets on a queen bed?
You can certainly use a king-size top sheet on a queen size mattress if you want to ensure that the top sheet stays nice and tucked in. However, I wouldn’t recommend using a king-size fitted sheet on a queen-size mattress. While both have two sides that measure 80”, there’s a 16” difference on the other two sides that will make for a loose fit on a queen-size bed.
Will a king size sheet fit two twin beds?
Yes! This is called a split-king mattress, which is just two twin-size mattresses put together. Many companies will offer split king sheet sets, which include two twin-size fitted sheets.
