What Do the Avocado Organic Linens Sheets Feel Like?
Linen sheets tend to feel much more textured than cotton or bamboo sheets. And this is the case for the Avocado Organic Linen sheets. They don’t feel as crisp as cotton, but they also aren’t as smooth as bamboo.
If you were to run your hands over these sheets, you’ll notice that they feel slightly coarse. But they should still feel soft enough to enjoy while you sleep.
Avocado Organic Linen Sheets Materials
The Avocado Organic Linen sheets are made from linen that is 100% Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified. This is the gold standard for environmentally and socially responsible textile manufacturing.
The linen is derived from flax stalks, and this material has a good deal of breathability to it.
Linens also don’t feature a thread count. Instead, they’re measured by their weight, with grams per square meter (GSM). The Avocado Organic Linens have a GSM of 130, which makes them lightweight and aids in breathability.

Read Full ReviewWhat to Consider Before Buying
There are many things to consider when looking for a new set of bed sheets, but here are some of the key categories to consider:
Sleeping Hot or Cold
As a hot sleeper, this is the most important consideration for me. I’m happy to say that these sheets sleep very cool. When I was just using the top sheet, and I would change positions, I could feel the sheets let air flow through.
This makes sense, as the flax used in these sheets is known to be very breathable. I would definitely recommend these to my fellow hot sleepers out there! And, many customer reviews I read said the same thing.
If you tend to sleep cool, get cold quickly, or just like to layer up, these might work for you. But overall, I could see the need for a weighted blanket or a comforter to keep you warm.
Care Instructions
Caring for your Organic Linen sheet set couldn’t be easier. They are fully machine-washable, and here’s what Avocado recommends:
Wash on a gentle cycle with cold water and an eco-friendly detergent if you have one. Avoid using bleach, fabric softener, or whiteners if you have the white color option.
From there, you can either line dry or tumble dry on low, then remove promptly. Avocado also recommends that you avoid using dryer sheets or fabric softeners because these can hinder the absorbency of the linens.
Allergies
The flax that is used to make these sheets is naturally hypoallergenic. Because of this they shouldn’t trigger allergies.
Company Policies
Knowing the fine print is always important when making a purchase. Here’s what Avocado offers when you buy this set of sheets.
Set Includes
For this review, I received the queen-sized set. This included:
- A fitted sheet
- A flat sheet
- Two standard-sized pillowcases
This sheet set starts at a full-sized, and goes up to California king. Each size comes with the same items as the queen, though the two king options will have king-sized pillowcases.
Return Policy
You have 100 nights to test out your Organic Linen sheets! This acts as a sleep trial. If, during those 100 nights, you decide these sheets aren’t for you, you can return them for a full refund.
If you decide to keep the sheets, the Organic Linen sheets have a 1-year warranty!
How Do the Avocado Organic Linen Sheets Compare To Other Sheets?
Linens are made from flax stalks, and they feel much different than cotton or bamboo. Let’s take some time to compare the Avocado Organic Linens against some cotton and bamboo sheets.
Avocado Vs. American Blossom Linens
American Blossom may have Linens in the company name, but the cotton sheets are the company’s classic set. And true to its name, these sheets are made right here in the United States.
To start off this comparison, the Avocado sheets are linens made from flax stalks, while the American Blossom sheets are made from 100% organic West Texas cotton. This is going to give these two sheets different feels.
The American Blossom sheets are going to have that classic, crisp feeling associated with cotton sheets. These sheets are also constructed with a percale weave, which will make them feel very crisp as well. The Avocado sheets will have a bit of a texture to them, but overall they have a soft feel and won’t be as crisp.
RELATED: Percale vs Sateen Sheets
Both are a great option if you’re looking for organic bedding. But because of this, the sheets aren’t treated with dyes, so they only have white or natural color options available.
Both options should be good for hot sleepers as well. Cotton and flax are both breathable materials, and both have constructions to allow for airflow.
Who Should Get the Avocado Organic Linen Sheets?
- Hot sleepers
- People who prefer soft sheets
Who Should Get the American Blossom Linens Classic sheets?
- Fans of crisp, organic cotton sheets
- Anyone looking for an American made product

Avocado Vs. Cozy Earth
If you’re a fan of soft sheets, then bamboo is another material to look at. Cozy Earth’s bamboo sheet set got Oprah’s attention, and they got ours, too.
Both the Avocado and the Cozy Earth are fairly luxury sheets, but what’s different about them? To start: the materials. Cozy Earth’s sheets are made out of 100% bamboo viscose, which feels much softer than cotton, but will feel more like satin than linen.
Avocado’s linen sheets have a bit of texture to them, but they still feel relatively soft. This is a common characteristic of linen sheets, so if that’s your preference, the linen will be the way to go.
Both are high-quality sheets, and are more luxe options on the market. However, both sets of sheets are durable and should last you a long time.
If you’re looking for a few neutral color options, Cozy Earth has five to choose from, while Avocado has two.
Finally, bamboo sheets have a tendency to wrinkle more than linen, so if you’re concerned about keeping a fresh, wrinkle-free set of sheets, opt for the Avocado Organic Linen sheets.
Who Should Get the Avocado Organic Linen sheets?
- Fans of a textured, linen feel
- People concerned about having a wrinkle free set of sheets
Who Should Get the Cozy Earth Bamboo sheets?
- Fans of soft, satin-like bamboo sheets
- Anyone looking for color options
