Like Saatva’s flagship mattress before it, the Saatva Rx performed astonishingly well in our Austin, TX sleep lab: The bed scored a 4/5 or higher in every performance-related category. And per the name, Saatva wanted to make it clear that the Saatva Rx is built to be a prescription for sleepers who suffer from achy backs, starting with a breathable organic cotton cover, quilted for extra support in the lower back area, and treated to prevent bacteria, mold, and mildew. Inside, there’s a layer of gel-infused memory foam that pulls heat away as you sleep and adds support and durability. Beneath that, high-density foam layers surround a thin layer of flexible micro-coils, which provide both support and comfort, relieving pressure points. The support layers include a Therapeutic Support Core made of pocketed coils topped with graphite-infused foam. Testers felt that the coils offered excellent pressure relief, and the firmer coils around the edge added fantastic edge support. At the bottom, there’s a stable base layer to ground the robust 15″ bed.
