Dreamfoam Latex Mattress Video Review
Dreamfoam Latex Mattress Overview
Dreamfoam mattresses come from Brooklyn Bedding, a company that is praised for its quality beds made right here in the U.S.A. There are several different models in the Dreamfoam line, including the Dreamfoam Cool, Dreamfoam Copper and Essential Memory Foam. And to make things even sweeter, these mattresses are sold at extremely affordable prices.
I’m going to take a deep dive into the Dreamfoam Latex mattress. This high-quality bed-in-a-box has many customization options. Shoppers can choose between the Soft, Medium and Firm models. Then, they can opt for the 10” version or the 12” model. In this review, I’ll focus on the 12” Medium model.
Pros of the Dreamfoam Latex
- This mattress is made with temperature-regulating Talalay latex, which is a great material for hot sleepers. Its innerspring support layer provides additional room for airflow to prevent overheating.
- The Medium model of the Dreamfoam Latex is ideal for side sleepers who weigh less than 300 lb. It is soft and supportive enough for your hips and shoulders to sink into the mattress without feeling stuck.
- The Dreamfoam Latex is great for fans of a bouncy innerspring feel. Its innerspring coils will quickly respond to your body weight.
Cons of the Dreamfoam Latex
- The Dreamfoam Latex has a drastically different feel than a slow-moving memory foam mattress. For fans of that feeling, this mattress will feel too bouncy.
- Like most innerspring mattresses, this bed did not perform well during motion isolation testing. Couples that share a bed might feel some disturbances from one person moving on one side of the mattress.
- The Medium model is not firm enough to support average and heavyweight stomach sleepers. These sleepers should opt for the Firm model of the Dreamfoam Latex mattress.

Dreamfoam Latex Mattress Firmness and Feel
Firmness and feel are some of the most important factors to consider if a mattress is suitable for you or not. Keep reading to learn more about the Dreamfoam Latex’s firmness and feel.
How Firm is the Dreamfoam Latex?
On Mattress Clarity’s firmness scale, the Medium model feels like a 6.5/10. This is the industry standard for medium-firm mattresses, so it should be supportive for a wide variety of sleepers. The plush pillow top provides excellent pressure relief while the base layers give a great amount of support.
Choose Soft If: | Choose Medium If: | Choose Firm If: |
You are a lightweight person | You are an average or heavyweight back or side sleeper | You are stomach sleeper |
Sleeping On The Dreamfoam Latex
Back sleepers should find the Dreamfoam Latex to be a very comfortable mattress. The pillow top is quilted with soft reflex foam. The soft top is balanced by the middle latex layer, which gives a good amount of support.
The Dreamfoam Latex is also a great choice for side sleepers. The soft pillow top helps alleviate pain on pressure points, and it provides great body contouring.
Most stomach sleepers will find the Medium model feels too soft. People who prefer this sleeping position will likely feel their hips sinking into the top layer, getting their body out of the proper spinal alignment. Stomach sleepers will feel more supported on the Firm model.
What Does the Dreamfoam Latex Feel Like?
Though the Dreamfoam Latex has a plush pillow top, it still has a good bit of responsiveness. After pushing into the top layers, the bed gently springs back. This creates a nice amount of body contouring, but sleepers shouldn’t feel like they’re sinking inside the mattress. Overall, it’s easy to move around on top of this bed.
Sleeper Weight | Back Sleepers | Side Sleepers | Stomach Sleepers |
Lightweight (Under 130 lb) | Excellent | Good | Excellent |
Average (130 – 230 lb) | Excellent | Good | Bad |
Heavyweight (Over 230 lb) | Good | Fair | Bad |
Is the Dreamfoam Latex Mattress Good For Lightweight People (Under 130 lb)?
- Lightweight back sleepers will feel a good balance of comfort and support on the Medium model.
- Lightweight sleepers on their side will feel a great deal of pressure relief and body contouring around their shoulders and hips.
- Stomach sleepers under 130 lb should feel enough support under their hips stay in proper alignment throughout the night on the Medium model.
Is the Dreamfoam Latex Mattress Good For Average Weight People (130 – 230 lb)?
- Average weight back sleepers should find the Dreamfoam Latex is a great match. The buoyant Talalay latex helps support the lumbar area, and the quilted pillow top creates excellent pressure relief.
- Average weight people should also find the Dreamfoam Latex feels great while side sleeping. The Medium model is soft enough to protect shoulders and hips, and it’s firm enough to support the rest of the body.
- Average weight stomach sleepers may feel the Dreamfoam Latex isn’t quite firm enough. People who weigh closer to 200lbs will likely feel their hips sinking into the top layer, which could create lower back pain over time. People who prefer this sleeping position may want to opt for the Firm model.
Is the Dreamfoam Latex Mattress Good For Heavyweight People (Over 230 lb)?
- Heavyweight back sleepers should also feel a good balance of comfort and support on the Dreamfoam Latex. People in this category will get plenty of body contouring from the pillow top, and the high-density base foam is quite supportive.
- Side sleepers who weigh between 230 and 300lbs should feel good pressure relief from the pillow top. Those who weigh more than 300lbs, though, may feel some pain along their shoulders. Instead, people in this category should take a look at the best mattresses for heavy people.
- Heavier stomach sleepers will not feel enough support from the Dreamfoam Latex’s Medium model. Instead, these sleepers will want to opt for the Firm model.
Dreamfoam Latex Mattress Construction
Now, let’s take a closer look at what the Dreamfoam Latex is made out of. We’ll go through the entire mattress, layer by layer.
Cover
The cover has a quilted top with 1” of reflex foam. This soft material provides excellent body contouring and gives that classic pillow top feel.
The 12″ Dreamfoam Latex has a zipper around the cover, so it’s easy to take out the foam and adjust the firmness and comfort level at any time.
Comfort Layer
Next, there’s a 3” foam layer made with Oeko-Tex Class 1 Talalay latex. This material provides excellent pressure relief and support. Its buoyant feel is meant to ease muscle tension.
Support Layer
The top layers sit on 8” of individually-encased ascension coils. These springs not only give the mattress a long lifespan—they also prevent sleepers from feeling “stuck” inside the mattress.
Mattress Height
The Dreamfoam Latex is available in a 10″ or 12″ model.

Dreamfoam Latex Mattress Performance
Now, let’s see how well the Dreamfoam Latex mattress performs. I’ll go over its edge support, motion transfer, cooling features, durability and more.
Sleeping Hot or Cold
Talalay Latex is naturally temperature neutral, so it should promote airflow and prevent the mattress from overheating. The base layer gives the bed great breathability, so it’s a great mattress for hot sleepers.
Motion Transfer
Motion transfer is an important aspect to consider when shopping for a new mattress—especially for couples. If you’re lying on one side of the bed, will you be disturbed when your partner shifts sleeping positions in the night?
To test this, I placed a glass of water in the center of the Dreamfoam Latex. Then I pushed around the glass and noticed a great deal of disturbance in the water. This is pretty common with innerspring mattresses. If you’re worried about this, you may have better luck with one of the best mattresses for couples.
Edge Support
Edge support is another valuable thing to consider. If you sleep near the side of the mattress, how secure will you feel?
Overall, the Dreamfoam Latex has decent edge support. When sitting on the side of this mattress, I noticed a bit of collapse. The sides sink in a bit when I lie near the edge, but I don’t feel like we will roll off it.
Durability
The Dreamfoam Latex Hybrid is made with high-quality Talalay latex and 8″ ascension coils. Because of this, I expect it to last between 7 and 10 years.
Off-Gassing
When unboxing a new mattress, it’s common for the bed to off-gas, or emit a slight chemical smell. This happened with the Dreamfoam Latex, but the smell completely faded after 48 hours.
Noise
I did not notice any noise when testing the Dreamfoam Latex. However, because this bed contains springs, it might begin to squeak over time.
Sex
Couples looking for one of the best mattresses for sex generally want something that is easy to move around on. The Dreamfoam Latex has responsive feel, so it should be a good option for getting intimate. Partners may gently sink into the pillow top layer, but they won’t feel like they’re “stuck” inside the bed.
Company Policies
I always encourage shoppers to thoroughly read the fine print before buying a new mattress. Below, I’ve outlined Dreamfoam’s warranty information, sleep trial period and return policy.
Warranty Info
The Dreamfoam Latex is backed by a 10-year warranty. It must be supported by a bed frame or foundation and without stains to be covered by the warranty.
Sleep Trial
There is a 120-night sleep trial period.
Return Policy
Customers can return their Dreamfoam mattress for a full refund – as long as it’s during the initial sleep trial period.
Common Dreamfoam Latex Mattress Complaints
On the Dreamfoam Latex mattress product page, some customers mentioned that the model they ordered either did not meet their expectations of its softness or firmness. This mattress comes in three levels of firmness so that sleepers with different body types and sleeping positions can all find something that is comfortable for them. Adding a mattress topper is one way to soften a mattress that feels too firm.
A few people have complained about the Dreamfoam Latex’s motion transfer. In our tests, we found this bed is not the best at isolating motion. If this is a top priority, take a look at the Dreamfoam Copper Dreams.
How Does The Dreamfoam Latex Compare To Other Mattresses?
Before investing in a new mattress, it’s always a good idea to look at several different options. Let’s see how the Dreamfoam Latex compares to similar beds on the market!

The Avocado Green mattress is known for its eco-friendly and durable materials. It’s made with organic latex, cotton, and wool. The Dreamfoam Latex is also made with high-quality latex, but the materials aren’t certified organic.
The Avocado Green mattress has a similar feel to the Dreamfoam Latex. It’s responsive but not bouncy. When it comes to firmness, the two mattresses both feel medium-firm, or a 6.5/10. The Dreamfoam Latex has three different firmness options, but the Avocado only has two.
Because it’s made with organic and high-quality materials, the Avocado mattress costs more than the Dreamfoam Latex. The Avocado Green mattress should have a longer lifespan, however, so it’s a good investment.
