Because they’re created by Brooklyn Bedding, Dreamfoam mattresses are good options for people on a budget. Brooklyn Bedding has its own factory, which means they can sell products without the middleman and lower the price points.
Dreamfoam has several different mattresses to choose from, including the Dreamfoam Copper, Elements Latex, and Dreamfoam Essential. We’re looking specifically at the Dreamfoam Hybrid, which comes in two different construction options. Customers can choose between an all-foam mattress or a hybrid model made with encased coils and memory foam.
We tested the Dreamfoam Hybrid. And while it has a low price point and great cooling features, it will be a better option for some people rather than others. Is the Dreamfoam Hybrid mattress the best bed for you? Let’s find out!

Dreamfoam Hybrid Mattress Firmness and Feel
In our mattress reviews, we always take a close look at firmness and feel. That way, we can learn more about who each bed is a good fit for.
How Firm is the Dreamfoam Hybrid?
The Dreamfoam Hybrid is a 6.5/10 on our firmness scale, which is the industry standard. Its medium firmness level provides a good balance of comfort and support, making it suitable for many different sleeping positions.
Sleeping On The Dreamfoam Hybrid
The Dreamfoam Hybrid mattress should feel very comfortable while back sleeping. It’s supportive enough to keep the body in alignment but comfortable enough to alleviate pain on pressure points.
It’s also a great match for most side sleepers. The quilted plush top and comfort layer provides a good amount of pressure relief, so it should feel quite comfortable in this sleeping position.
But, the Dreamfoam Hybrid mattress is not a great fit for stomach sleepers. Even though this bed is medium-firm, it still feels too soft for this sleeping position. People in this category should take a look at the best mattresses for stomach sleepers.
What Does the Dreamfoam Hybrid Feel Like?
The Dreamfoam Hybrid has a responsive feel. The gel memory foam comfort layer isn’t too slow-moving, and the innersprings give it a bouncy feel. It’s important to note the all-foam model of the Dreamfoam Hybrid may feel a bit different.
Take a look at the SweetNight Twilight mattress for another affordable hybrid option.
Average Weight Sleepers – 130lbs – 230lbs
Average weight back sleepers should feel supported and comfortable on the Dreamfoam Hybrid mattress. The comfort layers alleviate pressure while the innersprings provide ample support. The Dreamfoam Hybrid is also a good fit for average weight side sleepers. In this sleeping position, they should feel plenty of pressure relief and support.
People who weigh between 130 and 230 lbs, however, will find the Dreamfoam Hybrid isn’t a great fit for stomach sleeping. Because of its medium firmness level, this Dreamfoam mattress won’t provide enough support in this sleeping position. Stomach sleepers should instead look for a firm mattress that will keep their body in alignment throughout the night.
Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230lbs
The Dreamfoam Hybrid should be a nice fit for heavier back sleepers. The encased coils provide a good amount of support for people with this body type.
However, it might not be the best fit for heavier side sleepers. They might need to find a mattress with a thicker comfort layer.
Heavier stomach sleepers likely won’t feel supported or comfortable on the Dreamfoam Hybrid mattress. Instead, they may want to take a look at the best mattresses for heavy people.
Lightweight Sleepers – Under 130lbs
Lightweight sleepers should feel comfortable in all sleeping positions. The top layer has plenty of plush comfort to ease joint pain. And because of their body type, lightweight sleepers aren’t likely to sink deeply into the bottom layers. Overall, the Dreamfoam Hybrid gel mattress should be a good option for lightweight people.
Dreamfoam Hybrid Mattress Construction
Now, let’s take a look at the Dreamfoam Hybrid’s construction. Here’s what you’ll find inside each layer.
Cover
The cover is quilted with soft foam, which is very good at contouring the body. There’s also an advanced cooling panel inside the cover, making it a great choice for people who tend to sleep hot at night.
Comfort Layer
The comfort layer consists of 2.5’’ of cooling gel memory foam, which is designed to prevent the buildup of body heat through the night.
Support Layer
The Dreamfoam Hybrid has 6″ of encased coils beneath the first foam layer. This aids in airflow, which should keep the mattress cool throughout the night.
Instead of encased coils, the all-foam Dreamfoam Hybrid mattress has a 7.5″ high-density foundation.
Mattress Height
The Dreamfoam Hybrid mattress is 10″ tall.

Dreamfoam Hybrid Mattress Performance
It’s always important to learn about a mattress’ firmness level and feel, but you can’t forget about its overall performance. Let’s take a closer look at the Dreamfoam Hybrid’s cooling features, motion transfer, edge support, and durability.
Sleeping Hot or Cold
The Dreamfoam Hybrid has many cooling features, so sleepers shouldn’t have to worry about getting hot at night. The quilted cover includes a cooling panel that dissipates heat. The cooling gel memory foam in the comfort layer should also help prevent heat buildup.
For an extra layer of heat prevention, opt for the Dreamfoam Hybrid hybrid. Its encased coils promote airflow, which should prevent the mattress from overheating.
Motion Transfer
Couples may want to keep motion transfer in mind when shopping for a new mattress. If a bed isn’t good at isolating motion, people may wake up when their partner changes sleeping positions in the night.
Overall, the Dreamfoam Hybrid’s motion transfer isn’t great. When testing, we detected a lot of motion whenever someone changed sleeping positions on the other side of the bed.
Edge Support
Edge support is another important aspect to consider, especially for those who sleep with a partner. Beds with poor edge support push sleepers closer toward the middle of the mattress, which means they utilize less of the bed.
The Dreamfoam Hybrid has decent edge support. It does collapse a bit when someone sits near the edge, but it shouldn’t make sleepers feel like they will roll off the bed.
Durability
Because the Dreamfoam Hybrid is a simpler mattress, we anticipate it will last 5 – 7 years.
Off-Gassing
It’s common for new mattresses to emit a slight chemical smell right out of the box. We call this off-gassing, and it was noticeable when opening the Dreamfoam Hybrid. After 48 hours, though, the odor completely disappeared.
Noise
We did not notice any noise coming from the mattress during testing. It’s possible the Dreamfoam Hybrid’s encased coils could squeak over time, but we do not anticipate noise being a huge issue with this mattress.
Sex
Partners looking for a good mattress for sex will want something that allows them to move around easily and change positions. Because the Dreamfoam Hybrid feels bouncy and responsive, it is a good mattress for sex.
Company Policies
It’s always a good idea to read the fine print before buying a new mattress. Let’s check out Dreamfoam’s warranty information, sleep trial, and return policy.
Warranty Info
The Dreamfoam Hybrid has a 10-year warranty, which is pretty standard for most online bed-in-a-box brands.
Sleep Trial
Dreamfoam offers a 120-night sleep trial, so customers can try out their new mattress for several months before returning.
Return Policy
If customers decide the Dreamfoam isn’t for them, they can return it for a full refund during the 120-night sleep trial period. Dreamfoam does require customers to try out their bed for at least 30 days before making a decision, however, because it can sometimes take a few weeks for people to adjust to a new mattress. The trial period can only be used once per customer each calendar year.
Common Dreamfoam Mattress Complaints
It’s common to come across a few complaints when shopping for a new mattress. Most of the issues we found had to do with shipping and delivery. But after speaking to a customer service representative, most people got their problems worked out.
In Amazon reviews, some customers complained about the durability of the Dreamfoam Hybrid. Because it’s at a lower price point, this Dreamfoam mattress won’t last as long as higher-end models. We expect this mattress to last 5 – 7 years.
How Does The Dreamfoam Hybrid Compare To Other Mattresses?
When you’re in the market for a new mattress, it’s always a good idea to check out multiple options. Let’s see how the Dreamfoam compares to other popular bed-in-a-box companies.
