Tomorrow Sleep vs. Saatva: Overview
Tomorrow Sleep and Saatva are both popular mattress companies that sell directly online, offer multiple firmness options, and incorporate both spring and foam materials. To help you determine which one is best for you, I’ve written a rundown of the similarities and differences between them in this Tomorrow Sleep vs Saatva comparison. Read on!Key Similarities
- Both incorporate memory foam somewhere in the mattress.
- Both offer multiple firmness options.
- Both incorporate coils in the support layer.
- Both address sleep temperature in their construction.
- Both use foam to reinforce edge support.
- Similar price range. ($550-1,150 for Tomorrow Sleep, $599-$1,399 for Saatva)
Key Differences
- Saatva has a euro-style pillow top.
- They have Different thicknesses. (Saatva offers 11.5 inch and 14.5 inch models; Tomorrow Sleep only offer 10 inch thickness.)
- Saatva uses a unique “coil on coil” construction.
- Tomorrow Sleep has more give, while Saatva is springier.
- Tomorrow Sleep offers a 100 night trial, Saatva 120 nights.
Tomorrow Sleep Construction
Tomorrow Sleep has two firmness options: Medium Soft and Medium Firm. Both have similar construction, but with different thicknesses of certain layers to create the different firmness levels.- The cover is made of polyester and nylon and doesn’t affect the overall feel of the mattress significantly.
- The top layer is 1 inch of dense memory foam with phase change material.
- Next is a layer of gel foam that provides additional comfort and some bounce beneath the top layer. This layer is thicker in the Medium Soft option.
- The Medium Firm option has a layer of “dynamic response foam” under the gel foam layer. This foam feels similar to memory foam.
- The individually pocketed coils enter in when you get to the support layer. This 6-inch layer is highly supportive, and uses durable materials that also help with motion isolation. The Medium Firm option uses thicker coils.
- The mattress reinforces edge support with a foam side rail system.
- At the base of the mattress is 1 inch of stabilizing foam.
Saatva Construction
Saatva comes Plus Soft, Luxury Firm and Firm options. Thickness and density of materials vary by firmness, but each firmness option is offered in both 11.5 inch and 14.5 inch thicknesses.- The cover is made of organic cotton and also doesn’t affect the feel of the mattress too much.
- The mattress has an extra cushion-y Euro pillow top.
- The comfort layer under the pillow top is comprised of individually wrapped comfort coils and a layer of memory foam that adapt to the contours of your body, relieving pressure.
- A steel coil base made with tempered steel coils gives the mattress support and durability, and prevents sagging.
- The edges of the mattress are encased in supportive foam that reinforces the structure and durability of the mattress.

Construction Differences/Notes
- Despite the use of springs, you’ll sink into Tomorrow Sleep quite a bit. This is especially the case with the softer version of Tomorrow Sleep.
- Overall, The Tomorrow Sleep will have more of a memory foam feel, while Saatva will have a more traditional spring mattress feel.
- The use of springs means both mattresses sleep cool for most people.
- Both mattresses are fairly durable.
- Saatva incorporates recycled and organic materials.
Feel Differences
Watch the videos below to get a sense of how the mattresses respond to pressure. Note that the Tomorrow Sleep video is for the Medium Firm version, so expect the soft version to be softer and have more give. The Saatva video is for its Luxury Firm option, which is the middle firmness option. Saatva’s Luxury Firm option is firmer and springier than Tomorrow Sleep’s Medium Firm mattress.Motion Transfer Differences
The videos below show off the differences in motion isolation. Tomorrow Sleep absorbs motion better to stop it from transferring, but Saatva does a good job as well.Pick Tomorrow Sleep If:
- You sleep on your side– Tomorrow Sleep conforms to the contours of your body, and it is softer as well.
- You like to sink into your mattress– With its soft, memory foam feel, Tomorrow Sleep has a quicksand-like feel.
Pick Saatva If:
- You are a stomach or back sleeper– Saatva runs firmer, with the Luxury Firm model being firmer than both options from Tomorrow Sleep. This means it’s a better option if you’re looking for the right support to sleep on your stomach or back.
- You’ve had success with spring mattresses– While both Tomorrow Sleep and Saatva incorporate springs, Saatva has more of a traditional spring feel. Tomorrow Sleep, as I’ve mentioned, feels a lot like a memory foam mattress.
